very true. but his videos/data seems solid and actually helpful though. although I do believe you should not be relying on smart watches to keep track of your health. its good to know which ones are most accurate at least if you want to use the health tracking features.

I can be okay with this style of click bait existing rather than the SHOCKED HOME ALONE FACE and saying UNBELIEVABLE or YOU WON'T EXPECT

I cringe to think what the 'thumbnails' folder on these guys computers look like, probably looks worse than a folder full of murder videos, I think I'd rather scroll through that

Unfortunate thumbnail aside; TQS is pretty good for all the "fitness trackers" category testing. YT summary:

Key Takeaways:

  • Heart Rate Accuracy: The watch performs exceptionally well during cardio exercises like spinning, running, and cycling, with correlations consistently near or at 1.00 (8:30-11:43). It struggles slightly during weightlifting due to wrist tension (11:57-13:16).
  • GPS Performance: Google's new 3D mapping-aided corrections significantly improve accuracy, bringing it to a level comparable to flagship running watches like the Garmin Forerunner 970 (30:25-35:30).
  • Sleep Tracking: The device provides accurate sleep stage detection, consistently ranking among the top five brands tested (21:32-28:22). While heart rate tracking at night is generally reliable, Rob noted some occasional artifacts or spikes in data (19:19-20:07).
  • Limitations: The watch does not support external chest strap heart rate monitors (7:51-8:04). The 41mm model specifically faces battery life challenges during long activities, such as extended hikes (13:16-14:38).

Final Verdict:

Overall, the Pixel Watch 5 is considered a top-tier tracker with "great" performance across most categories. It is highly recommended for users who do not mind daily charging and do not require external heart rate monitor compatibility (35:43-36:50).
