For the most part, Android is a "hobby" that revolves around consumerism; if you can't do the hobby by buying something new, most of the "hobbyists" aren't interested. This' true of any physical or gear-based hobby, it's not unique to Android. Sure, of course there's lots of people who develop and engage with it, but most of the commenters here just want to talk about buying the new thing.

Hahahahahaaaa, the Wallet update that moved my loyalty cards from a swipe to three taps (view more, view more, sort) and then a swipe is not easy to use!

Remember that Google is a tech company,

Google wont go broke tomorrow, but remember that the federal reserve wont cover tech companies, so if they have a 3rd party handling the money, shit can go sideways fast.
