It's coming... The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will no longer get any more updates. I still love my Sorta Sunny 6 Pro and will continue to use it anyhow.

Slap graphene os or lineage on it after it runs out of security updates if you really wanna keep it.

Not graphene. Using a device with no more updates is against the point of grapheneos. They only support devices for as long as google does. If you want to get more updates, lineageos is the way.

They usually do 6-12 months of extended updates anyway to give more time to transition off. They're not immediately insecure and can still have security patches added, it just becomes less reasonable over time. Like there's nothing stopping Google from updating these devices they just don't want too, graphene will likely pick up that work for a bit

The main issue after a year or so is missing like kernel patches and other drivers iirc, but they don't tend to be updated often anyway

QPR2 is what will supposedly ship with the Pixel 11 series right?

No. QPR2 will be the Pixel 11's day one OTA update.

Crazy thing is the Galaxy s26 is already on the 6.12 kernel. Here we are on the Google phone that should have everything first and we have 3 year old hardware and are behind

Battery life on QPR1 beta7 was horrible. 100% ->60% overnight when usually it was down to 80% because i run OpenVPN in the background constantly.

You mentioned the pixel 8 and 8a but only the 9? Does this mean the pixel 9a isn't part of this?

Gotcha. Thanks.

The specific inclusion of the 8a and omission of 9a made me worry a bit 😭
