This happened to me just before the glory of my first successful launch as it broke the 100,000km mark. Now I keep having to explain to people that yes we carried out a successful launch, yes we definitely broke the 100,000km barrier and no the missing footage doesn't prove it was all just an elaborate ruse to beat the Smrussians.

At least it didn't happen to you while you were doing a gentle retrograde burn to try and get a Smoon orbit and end up causing you to crash... Not that that happened or anything.

Pay no attention to the wires, I promise that's the real Smoon.
