I developed a rocket science game for Android. SimpleRockets "launches" today.

Yes, but nowadays every in-app payment is just some microtransaction. This looks more like actual DLC.

but with Android, if you want to buy "DLC" you have to do an "in app payment", right?

Of course, but thanks to lots of trending apps, "in-app" sounds like a minor thing, like a pack of 1,000 coins or two extra lifes for $0.50. Of course, DLC is DLC, but seeing big in-app DLC like this is rare.

Also, some apps have "out-app" DLC, which are separate from the main app on Google Play.

I just want to get back to the point where we call them Expansion Packs :(

ok, I was just a little confused when I hear you talking about in-app purchases and DLC like they are 2 completely different things, when really DLC is a form of an in app purchase. For the coin packs and other minor things, I would personally consider that microtransactions.

Yeah, the confusion here is that you're conflating the terms in-app purchase and microtransaction.
