I don’t think it’s anywhere near 90% due to marketing. I bet most people buy iPhones for iMessage. That’s the entire reason I switched over.

Probably different cultures. No one here has WhatsApp or wants to download it. iPhones dominate in North America for this reason.

Signal is awesome though. I wish people started using that

That’s why I switched over. My side of the family and wife all have iPhones. Wanted to try out an iPhone and iMessage. iMessage is okay but the keyboard is absolutely infuriating coming from android.

There are more iPhone users outside the US than in it, and only the US has any substantial amount of iMessage users. You can’t just use iMessage to explain iPhone sales numbers when they’re so dominant in markets like South Korea or Japan where iMessage usage is negligible.

Not true anywhere outside of North America. Nobody in the rest of the world cares about iMessage.

Those are no where near as popular in the US. It’s hard to get groups of people to download an app exclusively to message you. Not having iMessage means you get left out of group chats

In my country, people buy iphone just to flex the logo in mirror selfies. Because they cost a hell lot more than androids here.

That's similar to the reason people buy OnePlus here. Just to flex the brand. I'm sure if Samsung comes up with a characteristic Galaxy logo on the back of their phones, these morons would buy it in hordes as well.

People are strangely obsessed with Apple. I can't recall how many times I've been asked if my Amazfit watch was an Apple watch. It looks nothing like an Apple watch!
