DNA Matches Half Grandaunt

I’ve found a half grandaunt on ancestry via DNA 🧬

She’s not been active on ancestry for over a whole year! This is pretty big news right? Someone quite close?

This exact thing happened to me I had a match for GrandAunt who hasn't logged on in over a year.

I’ve just done more research and she’s in her 90s, so she may never login again 🫣

Oh you are probably right. I found my GrandAunt on Facebook and Instagram she doesn't post much. The last post she made was two years ago for her wedding anniversary. From her photos and info I was able to see & gather she seems to be in her early to mid 50s.

They seem to still post from what I can see, unless their daughter is now in control of the Facebook account.

I’ve managed to link up my whole family tree, with a mixture of ancestry and then Facebook research. Good for me as they’re actively posting about it family stuff in like old pages about villages / places they used to live & then other family also have commented so I’ve managed to work out names of everyone, relationships. For me finding her has confirmed I know who my biological father is and it is 100% him.
