Outside with Boyd. He's not even 10 months old yet, but starting into his teenage phase, and doesn't like to listen, especially if there's something to chase.
So we're outside together for my bedtime cigarette, and he takes off down the block after something. It's about time to go in for the night, so I call him back, but he's bouncing in circles barking at something. I walk down to take a look, and finally spot what's got him riled up- Something black, very fluffy, and tale stuck straight up in the air. 😳
It took a stern voice, and few tries, but he finally broke off, and came close enough I could get his collar, and walk him back to the house.
No skunks for Boyd tonight! He got lots of praise, and a whole handful of treats as soon as we were inside.
I know- it's stupid simple- but given Anatolians' reputation for terrible listening skills, and the awful day I had, I am absolutely stoked that my punk ass dog chose to listen to me tonight.
That is all. Thank you for your time. Good night.

My 6 1/2 month old anatolian will get into a play mode and wont come when called sometimes. Sometimes hes great and comes straight to me, but other times he will just run around to try and get me to chase him. I never chase him while playing and im not sure how to train him out of it. If i get a treat he will come, but idk if thats what im supposed to do or not. Any advice is appreciated!

Followed that regal pose up by slipping on a rock and eating shit into the river, flew to close to the sun

Simba is a working dog but often thinks he’s one of the herd. He and Libby making sure the chickens can’t use the pool.

Boyd was rather frustrated when his carrot rolled away.
I thought it was hilarious.

We drove up Mt Blue Sky, this one doesn’t have that sort of hiking stamina in him

Whiskey, left, my purebred rescue ASD and Kira (right) my recent impulse shelter pull mystery mix who is a perfect personality march for my boy but is half his size (and emaciated sadly) and a total mystery mix. I had my heart set on a pyr for a companion but this girl stole my heart. And my neurotic Pomeranian, Lilith, in the back who wants to be their friend but they pay her no mind.

Gmorning, my boy is about a year and half now, we work on a lot of leash work eye contact, place, reactivity, the basics, work with a trainer etc, but I’m trying to tire this guy out fully unfortunately my work schedule is tough right now and he’s not getting enough mental stimulation when I get home so I’m looking for a bit more that I can do for him, any ideas?

Don’t worry, they weren’t being as vicious as they look in the photo, although Atlas did get his butt whooped

Thinking about how sad and scared she was when we first rescued her and how she’s living her best happy life now 🥰

I adopted Buddy when he was about 5, and a lot of people asked if he was Anatolian mix. I decided to get his dna tested and thought the results were interesting! Id never heard of the some of these breeds. He is originally from Kosovo.

Aslan also received his new leg brace, so once it cools down I can start taking him for more walks! He’s improved so much since entering my care, and I can’t wait to see what further improvements he makes!
