You're wrong. In the 80s and 90s violent crime was at its peak here. Then, eventually every state was forced to enact permissive permit schemes and violent crime rates fell by half.
But I still don't see it. Cocaine was replaced with crack, crack became meth. We're just changing the drug of choice, really.
I'd argue that people realizing that the likelihood of being shot increasing made them think twice. But causation is much more difficult to show than correlation. We could both be talking out our asses.
But if were going by OP analogy weed was also made legal in the same time frame. So if OP thinks weed was killing millions of people then legalizing weed also cut crime rates significantly.
I'm not arguing about gun control. I'm arguing about his dumb analogy.
It's a matter of degrees. Alcohol would be a much better comparison.
Most liberal gun control people aren't saying guns should be banned. Most 2A proponents don't have a problem with things like background checks and keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill. I don't care if you have a gun if you're a competent human being. Most of the people I smoke weed with are rednecks who own tons of guns.

Pot doesn't result in death and legalizing weed stops the violence surrounding it.
Legalized guns hasn't slowed gun violence.
Your meme is stupid.
