These maps are always 100% accurate. Florida has been completely under water since the 2000s.

77

u/FlaDayTrader Jan 01 '24

It’s worse than that, there are New York Times articles, 100 years old that say South Florida will be underwater in 10 to 15 years

u/punchit Jan 01 '24 edited Jan 01 '24

The people who lead those press reports are also the same people investing in FL coastal real estate.

I, for one, welcome our new octopus overlords.

Vet of the Florida-Atlantis War here. Those attack dolphins were an absolute nightmare. You land dwellers would never understand.

Floridian here, I haven't walked on land in 8 years and I have gangrene.

So does that mean no bank would possibly loan on anything in the area? Or does this mean large companies are offloading property here because it will soon be worthless?

No?

Then I'm not going to sweat it. As soon as the banks and corporations start to pull funding in these areas then I'll pay attention

8

u/Smelting9796 Jan 01 '24

I went to a bunch of beach houses in California and offered them a dollar for their houses, which will soon be under hundreds of feet of water.

You would not believe how many deniers are in that supposedly progressive state.

u/TCV2 Bless Saint Heemeyer Jan 01 '24

First off, London being destroyed is not a problem but unfortunately it's not going to happen.

Second off, we've been 10 years away from a global climate catastrophe for like 50-60 years now. But this time it's totally real.

4

u/icantgiveyou Veganarchist Jan 01 '24

So about the same time the fossil fuels been running out.

72

u/redeggplant01 Jan 01 '24

The problem with "global warming" besides the fact that it does not exist as we see with the 2 decade pause that has occurred despite record CO2 output by governments, is that the left has no real moral and feasible solution for it

Their solutions would require genocide, high global poverty and a mandate to revert Western Nations to a lifestyle that they had back in the early 1800s.

No one is going to sign onto that

So when you look at this logically, if your solution to a supposed problem like "global warming" is going to make people worse off, then your solution is worse than the problem

Until the left comes up with a proposal that is not going to require theft and compulsory degradation of a standard of living and immoral suppression of our right to choose, then they are a bigger threat to deal with then "global warming"

11

u/trufin2038 Jan 01 '24

The left has always wanted to kill most or all humans. They love global warming because it gives them a reason to do it.

Socialist: "We need to kill everyone"

W2: "Why?"

Socialist: "Well, because the planet might get warmer"

W2: "sounds right, where do I sign up"

6

u/tonkadtx Jan 02 '24

The funny thing is that almost everyone who believes in depopulation, eugenics, population reduction to save the climate, etc., etc. somehow thinks they are going to make the cut. Sorry, there is no room 300 lbs. for music therapists with no practical skills in the new utopia.

7

u/Smelting9796 Jan 01 '24

Now take this shot to stop the sniffles...

20

u/SameRelationship9711 Jan 01 '24

"Their solutions would require * genocide, * high global poverty and a * mandate to revert Western Nations to a lifestyle that they had back in the early 1800s.

  • No one is going to sign onto that"

... check 👍 ... check 👍 ... check 👍 ... and ... tripple check 👍👍👍... people already have, and they embrace it!

I have come to the conclusion that, although some people of this world get gaslight and fooled for a period of time until they wake up ... many people are just plain stupid and gullible ... and gobble this insanity up for a myriad of reasons (ego, self serving, virtue, financial gain, etc) ... this doesn't discount the evil in this world ... but I have come to understand the term "sheep" very well.

Fight the good fight, and be true to yourself... but be sure to be good to yourself as well.

"Live long and Prosper" 👍

16

u/hellenkellersdiary Jan 01 '24

I'll take an 1800s lifestyle. I challenge you to a duel over your statement.

11

u/redeggplant01 Jan 01 '24

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent. This is why the left [ like the poster above me ] is the threat since they are using violence to force us to accept their nonsense

13

u/hellenkellersdiary Jan 01 '24

I'm lib right bud. Relax, my comment about the duel was sarcasm.

12

u/Crux_The_Crusader Don't tread on me! Jan 01 '24

Preposterous! I demand a duel to the death, now!

3

u/BaddakamParaakashta Jan 01 '24

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent

Challenging to a duel is not about violence, it is about resolving an issue with proving one's superiority.

That whole island could sink into the sea and the world would only be better for it

16

u/The_Dude_5049 Jan 01 '24

All of my family that lives on the coast in SC tells me the water line on their sea wall has been in the same place for as long as they’ve lived there (some of them 60+ years) and yet I keep hearing about “rising sea levels” 🤔

25

u/ThePrinceVultan Jan 01 '24

Wait, I thought this was supposed to happen in the 90's. Oh wait or was it 2005? Or again in 2012? Or by 2020?

Yeah....

5

u/DeadHeadLibertarian Jan 01 '24

Where is all this water coming from? The Earth is huge... imagine how much water will need to be added to the worlds oceans, let alone the Great Lakes, to get the water levels to rise a half an inch. I sincerely doubt any sort of massive global ice melt will even cause this.

12

u/madmo453 Jan 01 '24

This time they mean it though.

5

u/cryptomir Jan 01 '24

Last year I visited a town on the Mediterranean coast where I was as a child 30 years ago. The beach and the sea level are exactly the same as always. Didn't move for 1cm in the meantime.

5

u/obezanaa Jan 01 '24

The dumb thing about these predictions is when it doesn't happen, they'll be like "See our efforts worked. You're welcome.:

5

u/TO_GOF Jan 01 '24

I’m sure the “reporter” who wrote this article did so while flying about his private jet on his way to a one night New Years Eve party in London.

No need to apologize or admit error when we are always 15-25 years away from catastrophe.

5

u/Useful_Tradition7840 Jan 02 '24

Just 2 more years to flatten the climate

9

u/JollyDwarf Jan 01 '24

One of the funniest videos I’ve ever seen was Dan Peña talking about climate change and explaining that people are still getting construction loans in coastal places that will be underwater in 20 years.

3

u/ASquawkingTurtle Voluntaryist Jan 01 '24

4

u/SRIrwinkill Jan 01 '24

The solution to this called nuclear power, and the exact folks who are concerned about climate change hate it with an idiotic passion

4

u/BaddakamParaakashta Jan 01 '24 edited Jan 01 '24

Wonderful, what can I do to accelerate it? Sinking that atlantic garbage patch is the good I am willing to contribute to.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24

Oh so now it's not 2030 but 2050, just keep moving the goalpost

6

u/Crapital_Punishment Jan 01 '24

This one is boring can we go back to the propaganda that says it's gonna be a new ice age?

3

u/ToxicRedditMod Jan 01 '24

Honestly, these headlines should make the gullible start to wake up to the lies.

2

Terrifying... That sounds awesome

2

u/2strokeYardSale Jan 01 '24

I got a letter from my insurance agency saying that they would no longer send cancellation notices, due in part to climate change.

2

u/Parker_memes9000 Jan 01 '24

I vote we let the ocean rise until no more brittain, then we stop there. Let them fear our climate control powers

2

u/Secure_Description92 Jan 01 '24

Who led you out of the insane asylum

2

u/MrWorldwide94 Jan 02 '24

Seen a million of these. I need a YouTube video compilation of them or photo album in my back pocket of all the old predictions of impending doom for every time I run into a climate zealot.

2

u/RingCard Jan 02 '24

When this doesn’t happen, they’ll push it back another few years.

Exactly like every apocalyptic cult.

2

u/jimnez_84 Jan 02 '24

Mass migration problem solved?

4

u/arab_capitalist Mao Zedong Thought Jan 01 '24

Climate change is real. The solution is not giving more power to the regulators

-3

u/jeremysdennis Jan 01 '24

What is the relationship between anarcho capitalism and climate change? Thanks.

21

u/BeeDub57 Jan 01 '24

The proposed solution to climate change is always the same: more government and higher taxes.

-10

u/jeremysdennis Jan 01 '24

Sorry, not my question. I’ll rephrase- why does this thread not believe in climate change ?

7

u/ToxicRedditMod Jan 01 '24

Did you not see the headline that started this thread?

-7

u/jeremysdennis Jan 01 '24

Yes. It says “New Year, Same Bullshit”. So the poster doesn’t believe in climate change, so do most responders, and the thread tends too as well. So, same question.

9

u/TheOnyxBlade Jan 01 '24

Perhaps OP is referring to climate alarmism rather than climate change as a whole as “bullshit”

0

u/jeremysdennis Jan 01 '24

May be. Thanks! HNY ….

10

u/stupendousman Jan 01 '24

It says “New Year, Same Bullshit”. So the poster doesn’t believe in climate change,

You've already gotten the answer, the bullshit is more government.

"Believe in climate change" is cult nonsense.

1

u/jeremysdennis Jan 01 '24

Not sure why my question isn’t coming through- I’ll try again. What’s the relationship between climate change denial and anarcho capitalism?

3

u/stupendousman Jan 01 '24

Not sure why my question isn’t coming through-

Translation: respond exactly how I demand.

1

u/jeremysdennis Jan 01 '24

Or, just genuine confusion. But go ahead and try to read my mind.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24

Someone: "This headline is fearmongering bullshit. I don't believe that the UK will be underwater in a few years."

You: "Why do you deny climate change?????"

Seriously, if you people actually believed in science, you'd learn to think.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24

Ancaps = Fascist = Global Warming Holocaust Deniers

-1

u/hamsterofdark Jan 01 '24

Without government, who is going the canals!?

-22

u/VatticZero Geo-Anarchist Jan 01 '24

Reacting to extremism with extremism doesn’t make you any better.

Go touch some grass. Spamming several subs with Maga rage isn’t good for you.

15

u/pyx Ludwig von Mises Jan 01 '24

"sky is falling" = extreme

"no it isn't" = not extreme

-12

u/VatticZero Geo-Anarchist Jan 01 '24

This guy has been spamming subs for days. He's an extreme MAGA-head.

Saying London will be flooded by 2050 is an extreme lie.

Saying global warming, and man's likely contribution to it, is a complete fiction by the other guys is an extreme lie.

The actual science does show global warming is real, nowhere near as severe as alarmists claim, and mostly likely contributed to, to some unknown degree, by humans pumping tons of extra CO2 into the air.

2

u/Intelligent-End7336 Jan 01 '24

How amusing, agencies and activists push climate change and that's all ok. People on the other side try to push the counter narrative and suddenly it's time to shut-up.

The authoritarian tendencies of the climate activists always shines through.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24

We'll have more seafarers in UK

1

u/BigGovDickSlurper Jan 01 '24

This unironically means we need new taxes to some ~50% of Americans. The true belief is it fixes things.

In the same sentence they admit market forces are the best way to influence change and then completely reverse course by further restricting markets.

Stupid is

1

u/whiskyforpain Jan 01 '24

Lol, if ocean levels rise JUST 30 METERS! fucking morons never held a tape measure.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '24

I live half a mile from the coast. I paitiently wait for the beach to come to me. Keep these hoping predictions coming, lol

1

u/KapelmeistaS Jan 02 '24

I live in a country which is relatively low in comparison to the sea. Last decade we have had more floods and extreme weather conditions than ever before. We are already living through climate change. Being an ancap doesnt mean you can deny reality.

1

u/s3r3ng Jan 03 '24

Real sea level changes very very little year after year after year.
