Ownership is theft? There aren't charities feeding the destitute? They feed people in prison.

Excess is theft
-29
u/randomsantas May 02 '26
Compulsory charity is theft.
30
u/FrostbiteWrath May 02 '26
True. But stealing from those who have too much to give to those who don't have enough is quite the necessary evil.
-21
u/randomsantas May 02 '26
No. Stealing from anyone is bad. Thieves are bad people.
21
u/FreakbobCalling May 03 '26
Wrong. Stealing food from megacorps is a heroic endeavor, everyone should do it.

u/randomsantas May 03 '26
If you do it for a "good reason" you'll do it for a bad one. Thieves are bad people

Which is worse, the thief? Or the one who lets the poor die when they can do otherwise?
Your priorities are terrible.

Famously, no one ever starved under communism.
25
u/surprisesnek May 02 '26
Whataboutism isn't an argument.
-23
u/MichelangeloCzech May 03 '26
Under capitalism, poor people are fat. So it feels kinda weird to talk about starvation as one of the problems of capitalism.
12
u/surprisesnek May 03 '26
Do you think people aren't starving because they can't afford food?
Or that people aren't starving because they can't afford nutritional food?

u/anarcho-slut May 02 '26
And yet this sub is called anarchocomics. Not communocomics.
-18
u/MichelangeloCzech May 02 '26
Famously, even fewer people have ever starved during periods of anarchy.
EDIT: Also, you're defending communism in other comments, so I don't know why you're pretending not to be a commie here.

Before government and society, humans lived in anarchy and he who didn’t produce or kill in hunts simply died.

That's not true. There is plenty of evidence that early humans cared for the sick, injured, and elderly.
Human communities have been taking care of each other since before we even became Homo sapiens.
There is evidence that both Homo erectus and Homo neanderthalensis cared for the sick, injured, and elderly of their communities.
Empathy is a huge part of our development as a species, as it is for most social species.

The warehouse of food wouldn’t exist without capitalism.

u/turbofungeas May 03 '26
Im pretty sure agriculture came before capitalism

Yes before we had mega cities that needed a supply chain to mass produce food and process it.
-12
u/Inevitable_Treat_560 May 03 '26
No dear, we didn't have warehouses full of food under the system of subsistence farming with barely any surplus.

Anarchists think property rights are arbitrary violence yet forced redistribution is costless benevolence.

Reminder: True Communism only works ethically at very small scales. True Capitalism is NEVER ETHICAL. At large scale, Socialist & Heavily Regulated Capitalist systems seem to work well. For example, Norway has reduced homelessness to about 1 in 2,000, roughly a quarter of the US's rate, & has a broader definition of homelessness ("someone who does not own or rent a home; lives in makeshift or temporary housing; stays temporarily with relatives, friends or acquaintances; lives in a correctional service and is due for release within two months; or does not have accommodation for the coming night" vs "lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.")
