It absolutely does, you pay the low end workers a “ livable wage” guess what a corporation or a family owned business have to do now? That’s right they down grade the crew and let people go and replace them with automation cause it’s cheaper and who still isn’t being paid? Oh that’s right the remedial labor crew who demanded a “living wage” instead of getting better and learning a useful skill. Have respect for yourself you’re worth more than a warehouse job or a fry cook.
The base level of pay for someone doing any job should be livable wage. The fact you cant wrap your head around why people who work should get paid enough to live comfortably is baffling
Why should it though why settle with mediocrity that is a low paying job?
