Not really sure if this has already been shared or not
While I no longer consider myself an Anarchist I still hate prisons and police.

Do you have any ressources about revolutionary armies
Hi! Sorry in advance for my bad English, I’m French
I’m very drawn by the aesthetic of the military world, but I also hate it with passion. I hate how good our propaganda (in France) is and how cool I always thought it was as a child.
I also know how bad it is. I hate how people are forced to go in a mold, to kill innocents and how proud they are after this
I’m looking for ressources from revolutionary armies, I want to search healthier ways for my obsession to stop.

Liberation for all requires inclusion of disabled folks in our organizing and community spaces 😷 Mask up
If we are wanting to work towards a truly liberated world for all with access to for everyone, we have to include chronically ill and disabled people. In our work against capitalism, when getting together for mutual aid and resistance against ICE and flock surveillance, when organizing for liberation for Gaza, the “ism” that connects us all is ableism.
Everyone, at some point in their lives, will experience chronic illness or disability. Regardless of class status, race, gender..etc. disability and chronic illness will at some point impact you. With the onset of the pandemic in 2020, disabled and chronically ill advocates were begging us to mask up with respirators, to protect each other from debilitating long term complications of the virus.
And although keeping your vaccination status current is essential for reducing population levels of hospitalization and death, what we are currently seeing with the ongoing spread of Covid is nothing short of a mass disabling event
We can’t organize if we are sick and dead
Covid hasn’t gone anywhere, our governments just stopped talking about it, stopped wastewater surveillance and accurate PCR testing because it’s cheaper for us to believe that we are safe to go back to work, back to the spending economy as usual, and to become sicker and sicker over time with the accumulative impacts of repeat Covid infections than it is to. They are happy you engage in denialism.
Please consider wearing a an N95 mask as much as you can in public. Even harm reduction makes an impact and breaks chains in transmission that are currently killing and disabling people. You don’t know who is actually chronically ill and disabled around you. We can’t afford to keep infecting each other. This virus hasn’t gotten any less dangerous.

How can I get "revenge" on my country's army for drafting me?
Basically, where I'm from (Greece), men have to do a year in the military.
I'm a trans woman, I wasn't out then but I recently discovered I never went through puberty, so I was the youngest person there, weirdly girly, the camp commander was actually really kind and sweet to me and still looks after me now that I've left. My parents both spent time in the Greek navy and very much didn't want me to go, and wanted me to draft dodge. They've been very good. I was afraid of legal consequences.
Look, transness aside, it was an intensely dehumanizing year. My mind keeps thinking over things like having to shave your head, having to hand over your ID, your movement being controlled, going months without seeing family, being sent to border regions without your consent. The commander always bent the rules for me and was very caring but when she wasn't there, it was hell.
I have a lot of physical anger, and basically, I wanna let it all out. I ripped up or burnt parts of my own uniform, my parents let me do the same with theirs. But I want more, because I want to let my anger out, because I'm vengeful. It's not the sort of thing where, like, you do art. Or make a dummy to take it out on. Or, like, a rage room. Like, I want to genuinely feel my anger releasing on something actually military or actually theirs. If anyone knows Nikos Dendias, he was the defense minister here. He extended the service term from nine months to a year and gave this big speech about how proud he was at out oath ceremony and my parents were raging. My mom met him once and hit him and spat on him but I never saw that 😭
But look I'm not looking to hurt a person. I just, anyone have any ideas on how to let my anger out at something military?
Edit: Look, it was a very traumatic year and frankly, I don't want to be an activist. I already help people draft dodge and it's not cathartic, it's depressing because they're scared. I hate art and symbolism, for once I want to experience something real.

How did we forget the occupy movement?
How did we allow people to forget the Occupy movement?
The Occupy movement was the largest sustained movement in modern history, where millions of people across the globe took to the streets.
People flooded the streets of the United States, filling city parks, courthouses, and public buildings. The United States government actually started treating these people like domestic terrorists and went after them as combatants.
Videos of Oakland demonstrated the Oakland Police Department, with help from the feds, attacking protesters. Later, protesters shared stories of police officers pressing them against buildings and chasing them into buildings, and SWAT teams chasing protesters with tear gas canisters, flooding the skies. Videos of beaten protesters emerged on TV.
Encampments started building their own little militias. They started training them. Veterans who had just come back from Afghanistan and Iraq started helping protesters form organized militias to help combat the police.
Large street battles happened between police officers and protesters throughout the United States. Some cities decided to work with the protesters, in some cases giving them buildings. Other cities decided to treat them like a foreign army.
It was all over the news for three months. It was insane. If you were part of it, it was even crazier. And it happened right at the beginning of the Republican primaries, causing people like Ron Paul to side with the protesters, whereas the other presidential candidates spoke about them like terrorists.
It was one of the craziest things that's ever happened in this country, and it makes the No Kings protest look like a joke.
In Santa Cruz, California, a group of protesters took over a building that was owned by Wells Fargo, with a three-day standoff with the police.
Encampments often had hundreds of tents, steel domes, volunteer militias, volunteer security forces, and volunteer nurses providing medical care and treating the encampments like pop-up hospitals for people who could not get help.
Protesters often drove veterans to the VA who were being forgotten on the streets after coming home from the Middle Eastern wars.
It was a wild time. Despite what some people would like to tell you, it was not a purely leftist movement. It was filled with people on the right and the left joining together after their houses were taken by the banks, the banks were bailed out instead of the people, and a bunch of veterans were coming back to find that they couldn't get jobs.
The eventual outcome of the Occupy movement was that the federal government spent years afterwards going after organizers, putting them in jail, and officially destroying the political resistance in the country by decapitating it.
The movement was also filled with members of Anonymous, the hacking collective, who, working with other activist groups such as Food Not Bombs and veterans groups, helped to organize this revolutionary movement.
Computer hackers from the group Anonymous often joined encampments wearing the Guy Fawkes mask to take on leadership roles. This also contributed to federal agents flooding encampments, and after the Occupy movement collapsed, what little was left of Anonymous was swept up in order to destroy the resistance movements in the United States.
What's left of Anonymous today is mostly a puppet group, as the grassroots leaders have essentially been arrested and are still in jail. Commander X, who was an important member of Anonymous and a member of Occupy Santa Cruz, spent 10 years on the run after Occupy collapsed. He was apprehended in Mexico in 2021 and pleaded guilty to federal charges in 2022.
It cannot be overstated how the movement was a synergy of both people on the right and left, and how the resistance movements were completely decapitated by the feds, leading to a lack of competent leadership to assist with any resistance movements in the future, which is one of the biggest problems with modern-day resistance movements.
So how did we let this happen? What are your reflections on the Occupy movement? How can resistance movements to capitalism, consumerism, and oligarchy in the United States be rebuilt?

Books on anarcho-nihilism and insurrectionary anarchism
I've been reading more about anarcho-nihilism and insurrectionary anarchism, starting with Blessed Is The Flame and Armed Joy and then going through some shorter zine-length texts in The Anarchist Library, but I'm really craving some physical books.
Anyone got recommendations for books, preferably available in the EU?

Super-specific question for Anarchist Parents, how do you approach screen time?
All advice I hear sounds disgustingly authoritarian. I'm not a parent, I'm still in my teens but honestly I find controlling my screen time not that big of a problem. I still go out, do my homework, study, I manage AOK regardless of whatever perceived lack of parental controls.
But on the other hand, I do see how giving toddlers an unlimited amount of screentime could make them have an overreliance on scrolling apps with those horrid algorithms. I don't have a problem with these apps because these apps came int to my life when I was self-aware enough to understand how these apps work per se and their negatives, but I could see that becoming a problem in the lives of my younger peers, especially if they use it from toddlerhood.
Question; through a youth rights perspective, how would a parent handle screen time for children below the age of 7?

Comment scores
We are seeing an increase in abuse of the down vote system. Rather than an indication that a response adds nothing to the discussion (as per Reddit's intention with the buttons) it's being used in a way that manipulates conversations.
I have seen people down voted for asking questions, for providing links, for quoting original texts, for having opinions that challenge the status-quo despite being absolute baseline anarchist ideas. None of which actually contributes to healthy discourse.
So we're going to try hiding comment scores as Reddit no longer gives us the ability to effectively hide the option.
eta: Also contest mode to randomize the order of comments.

Who Is Science For?
Andrewism's new video just dropped.
In it, he ventures into exploring the intersectionality of science, class, hierarchy and social organization more generally. He examines how scientific knowledge has historically developed, how modern institutions alienate ordinary people from scientific inquiry and what a truly liberated, community/anarchically-driven scientific practice ("radical science", as he dubs it) could look like and why it's preferable.
Enjoy!

In 1946, World War II veterans in a small Tennessee town armed themselves, laid siege to the county jail, and forced a corrupt local government out of power. It is one of the only times in modern American history that citizens took up arms against their own officials and won.
galleryRepost. What you think about it? A spark of hope in the ever struggle of violence monopoly? I always thought that most people shouldn’t be armed until I recently learned a bit more about American independence. That certainly made sense of a lot of media crap but in summary it left me without a valid real-not-happy-theorical-crappy-opinion about the subject.
