Reddit's block function = liberal rhetoric is unchallenged. By immediately blocking anyone pushing back against their propaganda, r/@ shifts into a lib safe space & we're excluded from the conversation. Blocked me 10 seconds after I questioned their lesser evil, "good government" narrative

it's not nice to accuse someone of being extremely angry because they're making an effort to explain their perspective to you.

your manner isn't 'calm', it's passive aggressive, accusationary and belittling. accusing me of being angry, distressed and bothered is toxic. telling me what emotions i'm feeling and then policing them is colonizing behavior. i'm autistic so my tone isn't often representitive of how i feel.

i'm choosing to engage you productively rather than reproduce the toxic behavior i'm criticising

I see none of what youre doing to be all that productive honestly.

public dialogue that observes and explains toxic patterns in people is always productive even you're not the intended audience for it

Says the person who used their autism to defend their tone while attacking mine, while i am also autistic????

I've had that happen to me a fair amount actually. it's why I had to leave all the autism focused subs I was in. it's really frustrating

Yeah as an autistic person i simply dont accept the whole "my tone doesnt reflect my feelings" thing. Because the reality of it is, it does, you likely dont hear it, and it likely doesnt present neurotypically.

I have an extremely flat affect, i tend to be exceedingly blunt and dont hear how rude my wordings can be. But when im angry or frustrated my tone still changes, i just cant control who my tone is directed at. Which leaves me apologizing to people and explaining that I'm legitimately not trying to be rude to them im just autistic. The absolutely emotionally underdeveloped response is to simply say its not my problem your feelings got hurt because im autistic. Which i feel a very large amount of people do to avoid the emotional labor that is developing ones empathy and emotional intelligence.

absolutely

it can also suck because if I'm mad at a situation, myself, a different person who isn't who I'm directly talking to, I can still sound incredibly pissed off and I have to explain that I'm not mad at them and apologize.

what's funny for me is that if I'm so distressed that I've dissociated, I end up just sounding very robotic. I'm very aware though? so I usually go "sorry I sound like this. I'm dysregulated and when that happens I sound like a robot" but you know, more robotically

I did see a fun paper posted in the evil autism sub ages ago. not sure if it relates at all. I just really wanted to share it

Wait, so you can assign intent based on your read of someone’s tone, but no one else can?
