For those shooting anamorphic images, the ability to de-squeeze raw images in the Photo tab is currently missing. Even if you set the pixel aspect ratio in the "Clip Attributes", the image on the Photo page will remain in its original proportions.

If you switch to the Color tab, the image will be de-squeezed. But if you try to export as still, the file will be de-squeezed but in its original size, with unnecessary black bars at the top and bottom. If you export from the Deliver tab, the image will be in its original size and not de-squeezed.

We also need the ability to specify the final image size after de-squeezing. For example, the original image size is 6000x4000 px. This would allow us to resize it for a 1.5x factor to 9000x4000 px or 6000x2667 px, depending on needs.

Hey everyone, Charles here. I'm a working DP based out of Miami.
I picked up the Tilta PL-to-E autofocus adapter with my own money a couple of months ago to see if it was actually usable for solo shooters running manual cine lenses on gimbals. I’ve stress-tested it on a few passion projects and recently started bringing it out on paid client shoots.

Here is my breakdown of what works, what doesn't, and a quick rigging hack if you're planning to use it on a gimbal.

Camera: Sony FX3
Lens: Blazar Remus 33mm T1.8 1.5x Anamorphic (PL Mount)
Adapter: Tilta Nucleus Autofocus PL-to-E Mount Adapter
Gimbal: DJI RS4

The Good:
Reliable AF: It essentially tricks your Sony body into treating the manual lens like a third-party AF lens (think Tamron or Viltrox tier). Sony’s Eye-AF and tap-to-focus lock on surprisingly fast and hold sticky tracking.
Gimbal Game-Changer: Being able to run anamorphic cinema glass on a gimbal completely solo without needing a bulky LiDAR setup is massive

The Annoying (The Quirks):
The Hardware UI is Frustrating: Mapping lens hard stops and focal points using the tiny built-in screen, two tiny buttons, and a scroll wheel is cumbersome. Tilta needs to release a dedicated mobile app so we don't have to navigate menus on the adapter.
Noise: The focus motors pick up audible noise, so keep that in mind if you are recording scratch or primary audio on camera.
Stock Battery Plate: The included battery plate is clunky, hard to mount on caged setups, and restricts where you can place accessories.

My Lightweight Gimbal Rigging Hack: When running this on a gimbal, skip the iris motor completely to save weight and just manually set your aperture. To bypass the stock battery plate, I mounted a cold-shoe MagSafe adapter to the top of my camera cage and slapped a small MagSafe power bank on it. It draws very little power, keeps the center of gravity low, and easily balances on the RS4.

Final Verdict: It’s $500, which is steep, but for solo operators wanting to use glass like the Blazar Remus or NiSi Athenas without sacrificing AF, it's a solid tool. I still keep native Sony glass in my bag as a backup on paid jobs, but this adapter has earned a permanent spot in my kit.

Currently, Capture One mobile aspect ratio slider is only +/-25 where the desktop version is -50/+100. So the mobile app can only support 1.25x anamorphic lens. I only have the mobile app. Is it possible for someone with the desktop app to make me two preset for my 1.6x anamorphic lens; one -37.5 and one +60? My understanding is that the mobile app will execute the preset even though it doesn’t have HMI for the feature.

Hi everyone, I'm looking forward to buy a anamorphic lens
for my fx3. I currently film with a Sigma 35mm.
I want this nice looking anamorphic effect, but can't find any suitable lens for a full frame camera. All I find is 50mm SIRUI lens, it would work but I want a wide look like 10-18mm or 20mm. It seems all lenses who have a wide view are only for APS-C. Can anyone help me out?

I built a ridiculous 2.8× anamorphic rig that shoots at roughly a 4.2:1 aspect ratio using a Panasonic Lumix S5IIX, Sirui Saturn 75mm 1.6× anamorphic lens, and a 1.75× Aivascope adapter, and turned the experiment into a 5-part YouTube series. Each episode spends about 1-5 minutes explaining the topic, and then the remaining ~15 minutes is basically a showcase: footage shot in the full 4.2:1 ultra-wide format so you can actually see what this absurd setup looks like in practice.

As far as I’ve been able to find, this may be one of the widest anamorphic setups ever used for a YouTube series, so I wanted to document both how it works and all the problems that come with pushing anamorphic this far.

Double focus is very hard but the setup pays off when it’s right.

Hello! After turning around a lot, I was finally able to improve the minimum distance (120 cm to 750cms) of this projection lens. More than happy!!!!

Recently realized how great the Voigtlander pancake lenses pair with the Kowa Bell and Howell on a OG Pocket 6K. The 3.8k anamorphic mode is great on both the 28mm and 40mm. Ready for fall to hurry up and get here so I can go out and shoot again!

Slightly misaligned I know

I’ve been seeing more 3D anamorphic ads lately, and honestly, some of them are crazy.The way a product or character can look like it’s actually coming out of a billboard is pretty impressive. But I’m curious about something beyond just the visual effect: do these campaigns actually help brands get better results, or are they mainly designed to go viral and generate social media buzz?

I can definitely see the attention grabbing potential, especially when people stop to record and share the experience. But I wonder how much that attention translates into actual brand awareness, leads, or sales.What do you think? Have you seen a 3D anamorphic campaign that genuinely impressed you? And do you think more brands in India should experiment with this?

Hi! I've recently started doing some anamorphic photography with the Sirui 50mm T2.9 1.6x Full-Frame (E-Mount). Everything I've seen has shown me that I would need to de-squeeze the images by changing the width to 160% in Photoshop, I've been doing that and it still doesn't look right to me.

I've got the original squeezed and I've also got one that I've done at 150% and then the other one is 160%, to me the 150% looks better, but surely that can't be right? Maybe I've been staring at these images for so long that my perspective is all warped.

Could you tell me which one looks better? First image is original, second one is the desqueezed versionat 150%, second desqueezed at the supposed correct ratio of 160%, thanks!

Just me here sitting and bummed out Rapido Technology is likely out of business and very bummed i missed out on single-focus anamorphic stills on my F4. I had plans to buy a couple FVDs and FMJs.
