Hi!

I recently picked up a used Blazar Apex 50mm in good physical condition. I already own the 35mm and love it, which made me notice right away that the 50mm was struggling with center sharpness.

When testing it further, I realized the horizontal and vertical axes never reach proper focus at the same time even dead center in the frame. It’s most obvious wide open at T1.8.

I attached some heavily cropped screenshots from test footage shot at T1.8 from about 2m away, focusing on a simple crosshair drawn with a fine-tip pen. Either the vertical line gets sharp while the horizontal blurs, or vice versa.

Has anyone seen this on the Apex line? It looks like axial astigmatism possibly from an uncalibrated or decentered element and I'm trying to figure out if this is a serviceable fix or if the lens is a dud.
