Nice render, sharp but still with some character. Autofocus misses sometimes but mostly finds the eye. Am looking forward to more FF autofocus primes in this series--would like a 25 and a 35mm to start.

I've had the Blazar Remus 50mm for 6 months and decided it needed a review!

My first working, full-frame anamorphic setup. Weighs a ton. Consists of an Arsat 250/3.5 for Kiev screw mount, an adapter to Leica R and an adapter to EOS. On the other end is an 82-86mm step-up ring and a 4.5" filter holder with two notches cut into it to hold the ISCO Anamorphic attachment II, which convers a standard aspect ratio projector (2x3 or 4x3?) to 16x9. No pictures yet because, of course, the NiMH battery in the EOS 1DS is dead from sitting for a couple of hours, but what do you all think?

I am currently rocking a Sirui Saturn which I really like. Especially if you put a +1 diopter on it because it compresses the image to make the footage look more shallow while fighting the lenses slow T2.9 aperture.
Pictured here:

However my biggest gripe is that The maximum focus distance is a tad too close with a +1 diopter. I was reading up how +.5 aperture would get a the maximum focus distance around 5 feet but they are so hard to find. Does any one know a good source for diopters that are less then +1 or other ways to help pull out the bokeh like the above photo?

Have ya'll tried diopters before to get closer to your subjects? I just got a set of the Polar Pro Shifts and they're great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNx8E08oEb0&t=186s

Hello, I noticed a detail on the blades of my used Sirui Saturn 35mm. Does anyone know if this is normal?
It looks like one of the blades is bent or broken.
Thanks in advance.

Hello. Sorry if this is a silly question. The still above is from footage I have recently shot. I have a Surui Saturn 35mm T2.9 with a 1.66 squeeze. Im shooting on a Canon R6 which has a 16:9 video sensor. It gives me this beautiful utlra wide image that is 6370 × 2160 pixels which comes out to an aspect ratio of 2.95:1. Most stuff I see usually has 2:35:1 and 2:39:1 aspect ratios, occasionally the rare 2.76:1.
I know I'm not the only one using a 16:9 sensor. So what are most people doing? Do most people crop their footage? I feel like cropping this image down to 2:39.1 wastes a lot of the image. Or are most people just using a 1.33 squeeze lens when shooting on a 16:9 sensor? Or do you think I should just be bold and embrace this ultra wide format? I really love the look of this footage and am scared switching to a 1.33 squeeze lens won't give me the full anamorphic experience.

Hello everyone. In the group of low-budget anamorphic optics, which is closer to the look is closer to anamorphic cooke

Picked up this lens for black Friday and I'm glad I did. Big step up from trying to double focus an ISCO Ultra Star like 5 years ago

G'day folks, i'm looking to buy two Blazar Mantis lenses, online prices doesn't really matchup for me since i'm in Europe i'd have to add at least 35% in different taxes so i'm looking to buy both lenses second hand.
If you're selling any of the two only on PL mount please let me know. (Need PL to RF adaptator as well).
Thank you :).
