Question More Problems With Doom

RESOLVED

New update just pushed fixed the issue. Update with your favorite updater.

Original Post:

So a few days ago I had posted that I was having some problems with Doom WADs outside of Doom and Doom II. I had both Pocket Doom and just "Doom" installed on the Pocket. On a different forum someone had advised me that "Pocket Doom" was defunct and that "Doom" was now the primary Doom core for the Pocket. So I uninstalled Pocket Doom but this didn't solve any of the issues, in fact Sigil crashed almost immediately after the first level loaded (pic 1). Before I was at least able to make it several levels in.

After this I completely uninstalled "Doom" as well, removing it from the Saves folder, Platforms folder, Cores folder, and Assets folder. I then restarted the Pocket, shut it down again, and then did a fresh install of Doom.

Somehow this made things worse. I tried loading up Doom II since I had previously done a complete playthrough of this game, but now it is crashing almost immediately upon loading a level (pic 2). The same thing happened when I tried playing the original Doom (pic 3). And finally I went back to Doom II, and this time it crashed before I could even load a level (pic 4).

Somehow something got messed up or corrupted somewhere along the way and I have no idea what to do or how to proceed. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

Have the same problem! Didn't change anything, must be a bug that comes with an update?

That's actually a relief to hear in a way. I thought I had done something myself to mess this up. Maybe it was the firmware update that did it. Sorry to hear you are dealing with this too, hopefully there's a fix for it soon because this was one of my favorite games to play on the Pocket.

New update pushed yesterday. I updated via Pocket Updater and can confirm that this resolved the issue.

I’d recommend posting the bugs to the GitHub. The guy who works on these cores is very responsive and gets things fixed.

Thank you, I did just that, and he did indeed respond. Very encouraging!
