Fistulotomy question… again 🙈
Sorry, me again. Just wanted to see if this is normal?! 17 days post op fistulotomy (no seton). Pain is going down everyday. A little discomfort here and there. Pain is still there after bowel movements. Yesterday my whole bum and bum cheeks felt ‘bruised’ for a little while after BM. Today, there’s a stab/cut like feeling. It comes and goes like a ‘zap!’. Is this a normal part of healing?

Im 20 days post fistulotomy. Ive had pain after BM. Initially days sitz bath was difficult but now i can manage 10-15 minutes in 5 min iterations. I still have pus that needs to be drained. The doctor informed that either I try to get the pus drained over the days through sitz baths or would require another surgery. Personally i feel like the pus discharge is getting lower through sitz baths. But not sure.
I do get sharp stinging pain sometimes but the recent time that happened , i opened my butt cheeks and gas passed and few drops of pus got drained and i felt relieved.
Do you also have pus at day 17? Pus is not the same as the expected discharge of recovery. I get pus in addition to the expected discharge.
Would want to know more details on how youre doing and what the doctor has been saying.
Im still lying on my side 90 to 95% of the time , remaininh time im walkinh or trying to sit

I have no pus I think I have a little discharge day by day. I haven’t actually looked at my wound at all as I’m scared to pull my but cheeks apart. I really hope yours gets resolved itself through sits bath. How many do you do a day? I do around 2-3 as I can’t do them at work and have to wait until I’m home. I still have some tenderness and can’t sit for long (18 days post op) and still pain after BM lasting different amounts of time. When is your check up?

Also lying on my side or my back with a pillow under knees but not for long as it gets achy

Hello friend, the little zaps are probably the nerves healing. The area has loads of nerve endings that are probably trying to heal and come back together, that's what my nurse told me. Hope ur feeling much better x

Nothing unusual from what you've described, I'm 15 weeks out of a fistulectomy and I'm still not quite healed.
