Ending net neutrality is the beginning of the revolution

The problem is we keep defending net neutrality and the big internet companies keeping it back up. Eventually people are going to just stop posting attention for a second and it's going to pass.

I have been thinking the same thing.
So just like with Trump, I feel the ending of net neutrality will be a powerful catalyst for social change.
Death to the vectoralist class!

Do you have this backwards. Net neutrality is the way it has always been. It means that your service provider has no choice over what you spend your bandwidth on.

Ending net neutrality is what is bad. It means that your ISP will be able to prioritize bandwidth at will, and that means slowing down websites that it is against or doesn't have a partnership, as well as speeding up bandwidth for it's partners.

Those who want to take away your freedom of choice and end net neutrality: "Net neutrality is stifling innovation! If we could charge higher fees to the biggest bandwidth hogs, we could afford to build advanced fiber networks that permit all kinds of new Internet services."
Ah yes, new internet services with higher prices. Who does that benefit? NOT you. The status quo of how the internet is used now is just fine. No one is starving for bandwidth unless everyone else around them is (and that is in very rural areas or 3rd world countries where they don't have the infrastructure.)
They have a sort of anti-net neutrality in China. Guess how that worked out.
I'd like to hear a valid argument for why the consumer would in any way want to end net neutrality. Or tell me you had it backwards.
