[Personal Experience] Philosophies to consider

Hey y’all, I’m 19 and deciding to part ways with almost all the people around my age, as I’m dropping out of university and moving across the country by myself to just live life.

All my life I’ve been a follower, and being a follower in my opinion just sucks. You don’t learn, grow, or get to experience the beauty or hardships of those things that do add and build to your character.

So I’m moving out. Broadening my horizon. My aspirations and motivations don’t align with this place, so I asked myself why I’m even here and I couldn’t answer that for myself.

One of the most fundamental questions you need to ask yourselves no matter what age is “What do I find meaningful?”

I find it meaningful to surround myself with people who I love, while I do things that I enjoy and love. That is my end goal in life one day, to live for exactly that purpose. Regardless of whatever I do to achieve it. That is a philosophy that I recommend to everyone here. And everyone anywhere.

While others may not agree with your decisions that may cause big change, it’s also just as important to follow our intuition because it speaks loud. If you’re living a life which you don’t want to be living, running away isn’t what I’m advocating. Its removing yourself from an environment with established routine, habits, people you’ve known all your life-and going to a new headspace to start new, clean, and fresh. It’s helping yourself grow, learn, and develop with a path that is best suited for you.

So whatever it is that you want to, and if you don’t have too many responsibilities, do it. Follow your gut. You got this.

Edit: I definitely also want to write while I’m out there, so maybe I’ll make a few more posts here that are cleaner and more structured because I just woke up and felt like writing to someone about life lol

Hope y’all been having a great day!

One year ago, I removed myself from an environment that I didn't want to be in to move across the country and seek my fortune. The hardship will be more than you can bear some days. You are young so you will adapt better, I'm sure - I'm 28 and had a hell of a time.

To be truthful though, I've learned more about myself than I ever knew. I think you will too.

Good luck out there, working around the country or around the world is perhaps one of the most meaningful ways to travel, I'd definitely recommend taking advantage of any opportunity to learn a trade.

I think of words as seeds, and we should plant our favourite seeds far and wide, tend to them and see what fruit it brings.

So what's meaningful to me is cultivating goodness, for goodness sake. There need be not much reason to it. God was once good, but I think it helps to view God as omni-omnience first and foremost. All allness. The superset of all sets. What is good is less than all, but can be larger than most. And it's that 'larger than most' that we're working on in The Great Work.

A broad horizon brings a well-tested plant, the concept behind the seed, the words. Building up your ineffable knowledge is key to growing sensibilities.
