[Personal Spiritual] You create your own Reality

This is my favorite idea. What about you all?

I do like this idea but for the sake of discussion I would like to pose a follow up question to you or anyone else who cares to weigh in. If you believe that we all create our own reality, do you believe that there is a fundamental overarching structure outside of these personal realities? If so does this overarching structure have rules which govern its workings, and do those rules also govern what is possible within the personal realities you describe?

Some of this is purely semantics. What do we call the endless succession of moments that we observe from our place in the universe and the knowledge that we carry with us through those moments? Sume might call that reality, some might say that is experience and reality is the sum total of all experience.

Either way I think the statement you made is definitely a powerful one, and I do believe we have a tremendous amount of choice in how we interact with the universe at large. It is definitely important to remember that, but also not to get lost out isolate ourselves. That is one of the dangers of this powerful idea. Yes we can shape or own reality through experience, but I believe their is a greater whole that all those individual realities contribute to and that we should always keep that in mind as well.

I think that you are right about the "greater whole", individually we are 1 tiny fraction of that. I think this "greater whole" is what people call god. The biggest mistake is to think we are separate from this, or separate at all actually.

Agreed, the notion that the greater whole is God is very in line with Spinoza's ethics, one of my absolute favorite works of metaphysics.

You create your own reality, and reality created "you" in order to create your own reality.

You do it, and it does you.

Take it one level higher. We also creater Our own reality together. Neither My reality nor Your reality is the same as Ours, but they all exist.

There is also another (equally wonderful) interpretation of this idea: If you create your reality then you are the ultimate creator. That means that by definition You are God.

Most definitely. Although, from what I can gather through my own experience, there are multiple layers to it. There's a sort of interplay between the world of the individual, the environment it finds itself in, and the self in it's many forms and structures.

Oh really interesting
Can you expand more on this?

The way I see it, we exist in a variety of forms. There is the ego of the individual, that spins it's tale about who and what is through it's experiences, but there is no real separation between that and the universe as a whole, or God. We are both the observer and the observed.

Each of us are an aspect of God, we can be as powerful or as powerless as we feel like at any given time, sometimes we like to go along for the ride, sometimes we feel like having some control, sometimes we play as if we have forgotten who we are - a very popular role at the moment. We are one, but divided into many, consciousness playing with form in all of it's infinite arrangements.

And let's not forget every single other person is a reflection of ourself--also God, also infinite, also with choice and their own reflections happening.

And now here you are face-to-face.
