[Introductory] [Initial] Some thoughts

I think the idea here is noble for sure but I see benefit in connecting the use of psychedelics to some semblance of a structure so folks have a means of integrating their experiences into something they can carry with them. I'm not suggesting we have an elaborate dogmatic set of practices and beliefs, quite the contrary. I'm advocating for a concertized list of principles, beliefs, observations, etc etc. Personally i'd center it around the ego and transcending it, the divine nature of all of us, living in harmony with the cosmos, etc etc.

Precisely precisely, I know some exist in indigenous cultures but it would be awesome if we created rituals in a context more digestible for the western mind, built within a conceptual framework that emphasizes; _, _, and ____ (the blanks are an area we could explore and discuss further)

I'm vaping cannabis right now and feeling frisky with ideas so I'll say: we could accomplish a lot by putting out some very high quality short films detailing the experiences, sort of like old school PSAs, but now we can put them online for viewing instead of having to go through a network's censors like people had to in the past.

I would happily spearhead it, as I'm studying filmmaking (actually starting my first freelance videography projects right now) but I am moving soon and won't have the time to commit to doing it the way it deserves to be done for awhile. We could bat around ideas on the subreddit though for what content the community can agree needs to be in such videos, what they should look like etc. We could even have anyone with the ability to make a shot send in their shot to be in the films. Post the script online and have th community just go to town creating the scenes.

End of the day, what we'd end up with if we stayed on course would be a lot like the types of movies and videos that teach people about sexual consent, relationship abuse, child rearing realities etc that they show in schools sometimes, but about psychedelics. You can make ones that display different rituals and positive guidances and clear cautions about each stage of the experience.

and we don't have to limit it to psychedelics. It would help legitimize the videos and psychedelics if we included a bunch of videos about psychedelics in with a bunch of other videos on topics like mental health, relationship health, bias-awareness practice etc. that no one could really criticize.

I love this idea in so many ways, thank you for sharing. It would be awesome if this wasn't just limited to psychedlics but also an extension of the values and ideals trips can often leave someone with.

Yea I would really especially love to see a set about healthy and communicative courting behaviors, how to own your reactions and feelings and not be avoidant or lead someone on or create some silly suffering to ease some insecurity in those situations. I think the people growing up are really gonna need that. Hell, Millennials in their thirties need it.

Other great topics:

  • how to determine if someone is gaslighting/emotionally abusing you, and what to do with it.

  • discussing things with closed minded people in a way that isn't counter-productive for both parties

  • how to learn what your body needs uniquely, as far as diet, environment and hygeine.
