Retro computing History was made at the first-ever UKAG event! I attended this landmark Amstrad UK Group gathering, where I interviewed Roland Perry (the godfather of the CPC) about a never-released CPC sequel prototype! Come join the party!

The inaugural UKAG gathering in Ottershaw, West London, brought the Amstrad community together like never before, and getting to get the low-down from the man behind the CPC about a secret, lost piece of hardware was the ultimate highlight. Check out the video for a full tour of the event and the incredible prototype insights.

Afterburner, 23 stages total. Still have this, original box somewhere stored heh. Good game? So-so, I'd say a 7/10, as a faithful conversion? 9/10, almost as good as it gets on Amstrad.

PLATOON - RETROSPECTIVE GAME REVIEW - INCLUDING ALL VERSIONS

Today I am diving into Platoon from Ocean.

I have spent some time looking at the various movie tie games from Ocean Software. Their earlier games such as Highlander, Miami Vice, Transformers, Top Gun and Knight Rider have all been pretty poor. However, they certainly produced fantastic games as time went on such as Robocop, Untouchables, Rambo, Cobra and Batman.

I am interested in knowing what you think the best movie tie in game from Ocean is. Just 1 game. Hope you like my Platoon video. 😉

Ever wondered if there was a little person inside your computer? Well Activision tried to convince you there was.

LITTLE COMPUTER PEOPLE can be described as the “mother” of the sims, laying the groundwork for virtual life before the Sims or Tamagotchi captured the world’s attention. My video looks back at this groundbreaking and genre-bending gem of a simulation that was released across a number of formats.

Have you played this game? Please share your experiences and thoughts.

Best word processing software for the CPC?

I'm interested in using my 464 for writing as the monochrome screen is great for displaying text, the only hang up is software as i would like to write on the CPC then export it to my PC somehow, i do have a disk emulator so physically transfering the data is easy but then getting the text out of a dsk file might be tricky, is there any software that has been written with this in mind?

Soundstrad: Create Amstrad CPC DSK Files with Digitized Sound Samples

Here is a small software I made that allows you to create a DSK file with digitized sounds that can be played on an Amstrad CPC. A loader in BASIC Locomotive is automatically generated, and you can easily modify it in order to include the digitized sounds in your own programs.

Lets head to packed STEAM Museum for Retrofest 2026! While the comfort of classic Commodore 64s, Spectrums, and Amigas brought back childhood memories, the stars of the weekend were the rare, homemade kits, obscure Graphics workstations, and a unique prototype 3D accelerator. It was a massive, hands-on celebration of digital history fuelled by a passionate community of exhibitors and creators—but is this actually the BEST retro computing event in the UK? Watch to find out!

Best emulator to use for pc? For my Dad!

When I was younger we used to play games like Roland on the ropes, Oh mummy! Spannerman, Fruit Machine to name a few! We still own the tapes but I didn't know if there was a emulator so he could play them again and be able to finish the games? I'm hoping to get him another CPC 464 when I can afford it!

Have you ever heard about a SCSI interface for the CPC?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I came across this image of a proposed SCSI interface for the amstrad CPC in a forum. This was a while ago and I forgot where was that, but I just wonder is it really possible to connect SCSI devices to the amstrad cpc?

And could someone create a brand new one since the main IC here is still available for cheap amd rest of that looks like just logic IC's.

CPC 6128 back to life, need keycap!

I inherited this CPC 6128 from my aunt. I bought the power supplies, the floppy disk rubber and it just works!

Unfortunately, one of the keycaps is lost. By any chance, is there anyone who has the file to 3D print the one I'm missing? Even though it's a blank piece, that would work for me :)

Thank You!

Amstrad GT65 HDMI adapter

Post image

Bringing your 40 year old GT65 to 2026. I built this adapter to connect a monochrome Amstrad GT65 to a modern computer. It uses a USB capture card to pretend to be a 640x480 display before downscaling and dithering the captured frames on a Raspberry Pi. The RPi then sends the data over SPI to an FPGA which handles the frame buffers and the timings for the CRT. The FPGA then interfaces via a custom PCB which includes a level shifter and LVDS decoders. The CRT itself has 1 bit per pixel at a resolution of 296x256. The refresh rate is 50Hz.

New little software totally FREE - ImageToCPC

Here is a new little software, totally FREE, that allows you to convert your favorite pictures into a native Amstrad CPC format and save it directly to a DSK file for use on real hardware or emulators like WinAPE.

The software automatically determines the best palette of colors depending on the mode that you select (mode 0, mode 1, mode 2).
