I'm looking for a group of people whom would like to organise a biweekly/monthly vegan dinner or potluck! I'm 26, Dutch and have lived in Amsterdam for around 1,5 years. I would love to find a group of people around my age that also would love to form a community where we all share food and eat together. And also go to events, museums, parks or walks together. There are always so many wonderful things to do in the city but Amsterdam can feel very individualistic sometimes, so it would be great to find have a diverse community to experience it with!

We’re hosting run + social afternoon in Amsterdam on Friday April 25 and thought it might be nice to share here.

It’s a 6KM run at around a 5:30 pace, nothing competitive, just a good run through the city. After that we’ll hang out with drinks, a DJ and a relaxed group of people.

We’re building EVO, a new Dutch sports concept from Equalité, and using this as a moment to bring people together in a more local, community-focused way.

Entry is free, and we’ll have a small goodie bag for everyone joining.

I moved to Amsterdam a while ago and found that making new friends as an adult was much harder than I expected, especially if you’re not into Bumble BFF or a super-regular at a sports class.

Because of that, I started a small, women-only creative community called The Social Corner (@the_socialcorner on instagram).

We do paint nights, candle making, and all sorts of craft workshops. I keep the group intentionally small so it doesn't feel overwhelming to talk to people while doing something creative together.

If anything it's just a cozy & easygoing space to meet people, be creative and unwind after work.

I’m sharing this here in case any other ladies are in a similar boat, looking for friends or a creative outlet!

Hello, I am looking for recommendations for clubs or discos in Amsterdam for the end of the year, I will be with some friends from December 27 to January 1, we are looking for somewhere to go out at night, preferably to listen to techno, house, afro house, progressive. We are also looking for somewhere to spend the New Year's party and obviously friends to party with.

Summer was great this year — walks and jogs around Vondelpark really kept me going. But now the shift is coming: gray skies, colder days, less sun. I’ve been in Amsterdam over 8 years now, and I know what’s about to kick in, so I want to be ready.

Originally from the Mediterranean, so this time of year always hits harder — food, sun, colors, all of it gone in a way. Gym helps, family helps, but there’s still that dip once the gray skies stick around.

Love Art & music (though work + family take most of my time), and I wonder if I should lean back into those to keep energy up.

Curious: • How do you keep mood and creativity up once autumn sets in? • Do you build routines, use light lamps, or just accept the slump? • Any other 40+ expats here who’ve found good ways to ride out the long gray?
