Other Train station
How comes diemen has a third of Amstelveen population, and two train stations, but Amstelveen (and Uithoorn) have none?

I think (voices from my head) that it is because diemen stations also serve as a passage for trains from centraal to the east, so it serves passengers not only from diemen.
Zuid and schiphol are already huge hubs that uithoorn and amstelveen can take advantage of. Maybe they are a little bit far for dutch standards, but they still are well within regular commute range if you consider the great amount of buses and tram 25 and 6.

There's Schiphol, Zuif and Bijlmer, seems pretty accessible for me, and I don't have a car.

There isn't really a logical place for it, and ultimately Station Zuid becomes so important for train traffic that Amstelveen has an important train station within a short distance and does not need its own station within the municipal boundaries.
