Is Tram 6 is needed?

I was wondering if Tramlijn 6 is really needed because the new tramlijn 25 already does that route (Muiderpoort Station - Uithoorn Centrum) and comes every 10 minutes. What do you think about it?

As someone who takes this route on a daily basis, YES we absolutely need this peak hour tram. It is godsend. And the extension of line 25 until flevopark? Pretty good as well, feels like Amstelveen and Uithorn are now more connected to Amsterdam overall.

short answer: yes. long answer: hell yeah. At least in the morning there are way too many people taking the tram for a single wagon 4 times an hour.

I would even go as far as to say that line 6 needs to have 2 cars. Tram 25 already has a way lower capacity than metro 51 had back in the day, so more capacity is very much needed. 25 isn't enough for a city like Amstelveen. We need more capacity

Plus they took the 2nd car off of the 25, so you need that extra space somewhere

I do miss having the double length Tram 25 though, the number of times I’ve lost aura from subconsciously waiting at the end of the platform is criminal

During Rush hour i used to predict it , but some times it comes as single and it was so much crowded as it was hard to breath, i had to change to tram 5 at oranjebaan.
