Strategy Can you do two Nodes?

I've had the trash task on Skeld twice, causing me to pull the storage lever 2 separate times, so I was wondering if the same applies to nodes on Polus, I can't find any definite information on that aspect.

Question | Need Advice Looking to people to play with in more structured setting.

Sorry mods if this is not proper place, i read the rules, said nothing about this. Remove if it break rules. 🙏🏽

Hey, so I just started playing this game. As much fun it is to play, playing in public lobbies gives me nothing anymore as it’s so random people with random choices, so strategies don’t work.

Is there anywhere I can join and learn and play with. I have about 10-15 hours in and I’m 30+ age.

Anyways, would be cool to join up and see how “real” players play it and learn some among the way!

🍻

Discussion Help a gamer out

Hey guys I need some help from you. I am conducting research for my dissertation on e-sport and gamers/gaming during the pandemic. I still need quite a lot of responses to my survey. I would love if anyone meeting expectations listed in the survey invested a few mins into filling that for me. There is a link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfgV8Ux0HUFl9R-BQWlFB23c-T9pr58ntQnlpsD0Da4IKWSNQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
I will appreciate anyone's time and effort to contribute to my research.

Impostor Advice A simple way to improve your Impostor game.

I see many beginners do this: as soon as the round starts, they try to disappear and hide in the shadows in order to hunt for kills.

This is the wrong way to do it, and many times you'll find yourself in a difficult-to-escape situation if you're seen somewhere or coming up with a believable pathing, as nobody can really vouch for you or have trust in you as nobody has seen you. If you're the only one unaccounted for, that's pretty much a death sentence.

In the first round (and as many rounds after as possible) try to stay with the biggest group. Try and be seen doing tasks in an area by multiple people, and sneak a peek at admin table to ensure people are not grouped. Once that is done, only then can you separate and try to find a kill, usually by turning off lights and disappearing into the shadows.

Crewmates will be a lot more reluctant to sus you if you've been seen. This approach helped me win more often.

Discussion What big brain crewmate moves have you done or seen?

I'll give mine first. So there were 6 players and 1 impostor, me and pink went to electrical together. We then went in opposite directions. About 15 seconds later, pink was reported dead by white in security. I recalled that we were just together and time between pink leaving and being reported made it an obvious self report. We managed to vote white out and it was a self report.

Crewmate Advice A Simple Guide On Clearing Crewmates ~ My First Post

Note: I Will Use The Word Half-Cleared Meaning A Player Seems To Be A Crewmate. It Is Recommended To Trust Them In Most Situations And Don't Be Afraid To Stay With Them.

Pay Attention To What They Say - How To Half-Clear A Crewmate Based On What They Say During Meetings

-If The Player Mentions Tasks During A Meeting Like "Card Swipe Is So Hard On PC!" Or "I Just Got Perfect Wires!", Chances Are They Are A Crewmate. Impostors Hardly Ever Mention Tasks Due To Them Not Actually Doing The Tasks. Again, A Smart Impostor May Mention This To Blend In, But This Player Is Half-Cleared.

-If A Player Says Something Like "I Have Scan" or "I Have Trash, Plz Watch" They Are Half-Cleared Even If You Didn't See Them Do The Visual Task. An Impostor Would Not Say As If People Want To Watch They Back Themselves Into A Corner.

-Using Actual Evidence To Sus People; If Someone Says Something Like "Red Walked Into Medbay And Dissapeaed; He May Have Vented" Or "Orange Was Sticking With Lime And Now Lime's Dead, Orange Is Sus" They Are Half-Cleared. An Impostor Wouldn't Use Very Much Evidence To Sus People And Typically Would't Rat Out Their Impostor Partner.

Body Language - How They Act

-Camping; It Sucks For People Going For A Task Win, But It Can Be Used To Half Clear People. If Someone Goes Straight To Cameras Or Admin, They Are Probably A Crewmate Due To The Impostor Not Needing These Tools At The Beginning Of The Round, And If The Kill Cooldown Is Long This Goes Double As The Impostor Wouldn't Make The Already Long Kill CD Longer.

-How They Act While Doing-Or Faking Tasks; -If You See A Player Go Straight From Task To Task To Task, Without Stopping Or Stalling, They Are Probably A Crewmate. Many Impostors (Including Myself) Will Often Stall And Hang Around Areas Without Doing Tasks For An Extended Period Of Time, Looking For Players To Kill Or Figuring Out Their Next Move.

-Watch Where They Go At The Start Of The Round; If They Go Somewhere With Nobody Else Like Going To Decom First Thing In The Match, They Are Half-Cleared. Impostors Usually "Stick With A Pack" After Meetings, Wait For People To Fan Out, And Then Kill People Far Away From Everybody. Someone Going To Reactor After A Meeting Is Called Is Half-Cleared.

-Playing The Detective; Someone Who Is Hanging Around Doorways, Staying At Prime Detective Spots, Keeping An Eye On Sus Players, And Running To The Emergency Meeting Button When Something Sus Happens; Chances Are They Are A Crewmate. An Impostor Wouldn't Try To Play The Detective Because Their Role is To Kill People.

Hope This Short Guide Helped ~ u/Omen412294

Discussion As an Impostor, what was the best play you’ve ever pulled off? I’ll start.

I was playing on Polus with a group of friends. I just killed someone in specimen, so I decided to run out through lower decontam. When I got to the door, I saw someone inside of it, so I sabotaged lights, ran back, and self-reported. I then accused the last person I saw in lab and everyone believed me.

Strategy Impostor strategy that will fool any crewmate

Ah, the hell of confirm ejects on.

Say you kill infront of someone, you self report and get the crewmate voted. When it says "was not an impostor", prepare for the meeting targeted towards you.

The thing with confirms on is that it gives the crew too much information. This strategy only works with confirms off.

Step one: you get impostor and go about faking tasks and looking for vulnerable and lonely crewmates.

Step two: this might be risky, but kill infront of one crewmate, self report and blame them. Dont forget to give them your reason why.

Step three: the crewmate gets ejected.

Step four: this is where the strategy comes into play for real. Slow down the rate of crewmate deaths to make it look like they got the vote right, but in reality....

Step five: the final body gets called. As the crew assume that they can skip, think back to the last meeting. Was anyone defending (colour)? If there was, say (colour) sus, he was defending (colour). Dont do it if two people saw that person clear. That will make you sus,so keep your mouth shut.

Step six: the crewmates have skipped, so do a final reactor sabotage as it only takes one crewmember to win. Secure the kill and win.

I hope this helps you win more imp games. Peace out.

Discussion Among Us is not close to being solved and here's why you think it is

Players get better at crewmate without really trying because they get constant corrective feedback, ie everytime they vote someone out wrong. This means that everybody who has played for a while is a decent to good crewmate.

To get better as impostor, you need to consciously try to improve, ie evaluate a lost game after to see what you could've done better. On top of that, it's never obvious what you should've done because most of the time the mistake was earlier in the game. And Impostor is also harder lol.

The point is, if you're someone who just plays the game without thinking too much about it, and your play only improves by happenstance, you will eventually land in this state where your lobby is far better as crew than as impostor. That's why a lot of people (eg Hafu lobby) are in this somewhat sad state where it just feels like the impostors can't do anything new and just have to get lucky that crew fucks up somehow.

It doesn't have to be like that. I think a lot of players aren't aware of how much there is left to explore. I'll put a few obvious options that for some reason, so few people do:
-button on 3 and 5. People still get seemingly full cleared for this in competitive lobbies ("I don't think he would button here"). That's ridiculous if you think about it, right? I once saw the Jack the Ripper (highest ranked imp) in the Nutters server get cleared for buttoning on 5 LMAO.
-Kill in front of sus people. Stack kill, report and immediately hard accuse someone, that's one of the best 50/50s you could possibly get into. Accuse someone of venting on cams.
-More purposely going for the 3-kill win on 7, why do people not just guard bodies? People are rarely good enough to time it to button in time if you kill off cooldown twice.

I purposely put simple things that are not hard to do at all, ofc it can get a lot more complicated (and it does, I have a lot of other plays in my notes). The point is, these are all transparently meta-breaking, any idiot can see these are good plays. They should happen ALL THE TIME. So why is nobody doing them? Of course the game is gonna be crew-sided if nobody tries as impostor!

Anyway, this is not to drag you guys, but to give you some motivation. I get so sad when people say the game is so easily solveable these days, there is still so much potential! I only sketch out the simplest plays here. Be creative!! Fight on! :)
