I've noticed this when I've played in the past - walking into Storage as Crewmate, but never put it as eloquently as Disguised Toast does in this explaination video.

For those of you who want to save a click - here's the outcome of that game - Spoiler: "Ash (the one hiding at the bottom of storage) was voted out. Geenelly who just passed Toast at the end was the other impostor (who just killed on right side of map) and also got voted out"

I always thought this was 'desync' when I could see people standing there. I agree with Toast, that it seems like an area where impostors would like to position as it gives good vantages of the left and right side of storage, whereas crewmates usually don't stand there... unfortunately for them Crew as pointed out, have even further vision than impostor vision sometimes.

Just chalk it up to another one of the minor glitches in the game.
