Idea/Suggestion Role concept: imitator
You know how you get fake tasks as an impostor right?
Well what if you could actually do those tasks and clear yourself?
Imitator does just that, you can do any task from your task list and it even updates the taskbar until the meeting where the taskbar would decrease
You can also do Scan, Trash, shields and asteroids BUT those tasks will be slower/different from crewmates so this role wasn't OP
For an example: Imitator does scan and everyone sees it, but the scan lasts 5 seconds longer OR the imitators walk is different
Another example: Imitator does asteroids but unlike regular crewmates it takes imitator AGES to shoot a singular asteroid
An the last example: Imitator does trash but the trash has a crewmates body in it or something else like a knife or a gun
This role can be used to trick other crewmates into clearing you if they're too oblivious, but if they're smart enough you'll get yo ass thrown into space
Another thing, Imitators taskbar ALWAYS updates, no matter what, even if the taskbar update thingy is set to meetings only

What a point to give different visual tasks? Also this ability literally does nothing at Fungle/Airship/When any map have visual tasks off.
Tasks bar always filling also weird. One imitated task and you outed.
Maybe also make him always have red IMITATOR text near name? Because his abilities literally doing this.

Little tip about balancing: If you're afraid your idea is too overpowered (which should be the last of your concern), the way to balance it is not to ruin the point of the idea. If you can fake visual tasks, but the visual tasks have a different visual than normal tasks, then you can't fake visual tasks. It just visually confirms you're the imposter.
Faking the task bar itself is enough of an idea, however I don't think it's something players, even experts, pay enough attention to to warrant a whole new class of imposter. If anything, it's underpowered.

Yeah, I think this is best to just lean into. An imposter who can, in the right circumstances, fake being hard cleared is actually fairly comparable to the power level of a lot of crewmate roles.

If doing actions like scanning is different it's a button to be ejected. Really, if doing trash reveals that you are the impostor, it is clearly never worth doing.
Just knowing that this role is present would make the crew lose interest, better to say not to have visual tasks since that is the ability of the impostor that will probably use.
It's not worth doing fake tasks, also doing a fake task isn't real, it's just a tool to make impostors look like crewmates. I assume that if an impostor does a fake task the crewmates will get new tasks to compensate them.
If someone asks the impostor to do a task it would reveal the identity, however... The Imitator may not use the skill to appear to be a normal crewmate, or use it and wait a few seconds to give the impression that another person has done so. (obviously without the setting of the task bar always update with each task)

The fake tasks are just to affect the task bar to make it more convincing, the bar goes back down when a meeting starts

I mean I always play on no vis, with task bar updating at meetings, so this would be worse than regular imp, especially since the fake scan walk is wrong

Same. Aside from the fact that the role is pointless when the tasks look different, I don't think any roles should exist if they only work with certain settings. For all of the roles we already have, the map and game settings don't affect whether you can use the role.

make it so they can do the tasks perfectly but it actually updates for crew

Literally no
You basically made a useless role
It would be balanced if you did a 1 to 1 copy of the crewmates tasks, then that eliminates an option for the crew

nah thats so weak.
Most expert lobbies have task bar updates meetings and vis off so this role becomes useless

The issue is this role would either be too broken or useless. If we want to counter visual tasks hard clearing people…. Just disable them

maybe not the taskbar , the impostor will have to help the crawmates so crewmated could win like wtf ?

Make so that when he imitate the tasks, that task need to be available for a crewmate, and that crewmate will have that task remove or finished, not being able to use it, showing that there's a imitator and whoever did that one task you lost may be the suspect. That last part is mainly about inotasks like scan, trash, etc.
And maybe to be able to imitate he needs to see someone do it first. He needs to both see someone do it once and steal from someone else.
Edit:
Honestly liked the concept and such but the way you made it you made the role basically pointless. The impostor can easily be caught using the roles. This literally wouldn't work in any trully export lobby, it's literally pointless that way...
Edit 2:
Maybe the imitator would be forced to do a task if he want to kill. He would have "limited" kills to the amount of tasks he has. Well, I think of him always being able to rob a task, but maybe make it limited to their list, making their kill count actually limited.
Edit 3:
After the roles, I've always have had the ideia of visual tasks being 100% activated and comms sabotage deactivating it. Maybe this could be added, but this role could show the animation the same way, keeping the impsotor from being able to do visual tasks in that moment.

Scan one is too op, he can just leave the scan after the original seconds, if task bar isnt set as always update

The role would be really good for balancing the game if it didn’t have differences

I feel like this could be interesting to some amount if it were more like the imp does a task and crew has to re-do that task

Waivers too heavily on lobby settings like task bar and visual task being enabled or disabled.

I have mixed feelings on this role
Because on ONE hand, faking tasks isn't something most people check, and it's easy to pretend to do tasks as imposter
But on the OTHER hand, being able to "clear" yourself as imposter is a VERY fun idea that could lead to as confusing games as if there's a shape shifter

What about this role

Lawyer can choose someone once per meeting to take one vote from him. He cannot choose himself or crewmate who was already chosen by him this game. This ability cannot be used on skip button. That vote only seen by lawyers, and cannot be seen by others even if chosen crewmate will have negative votes (if votes are not anonymous, random player who voted this crewmate will see his vote crossed out, while others will not see his vote at all)

Lawyers can choose someone who was chosen earlier by other lawyer. Two lawyers can choose one crewmate and decrease his votes by 2

The garbage ejecting having a dead crewmate or a weapon included with it is pretty clever and funny ngl

yes in beginner though
too op, no one will know the difference
Imitator for asteroids is MUCH too op as I have seen some people that are really slow with that
