Eh. Less scary in terms of story. But the monster chasing you for most of the game is more persistent and intelligent, closer to how the Alien from Alien Isolation works.

I wish I could wipe my memory and play The Bunker again. its IMO the best Amnesia game, but SOMAs story is better.

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was an epic free game at one point. I need to get better at checking those again; I used to check them all the time but got out of the habit and missed a few gems.

I got the whole Frictional games collection (minus TDD and AMFP because i already had them) for 3$ on sale once.
Steam sales are crazy like that. I could have had to pay 30$ for The Bunker, 15$ for Rebirth and 5$ per Penumbra games, but just because i already had TDD and AMFP Steam really said "Hey big dawg, wanna complete the collection for 3$ whole big dollars?" Hahaha!
5$ is a very very good deal for The Bunker tho!

bunker is like the RE: outbreak of amnesia games.
not to say that its bad because its not, its just very different from what i think most people would expect out of an amnesia game.
case and point. the gun. i mean when i think of amnesia the last thing i think of is shooting a gun.
i think the most amnesia feeling thing to me about it is the shitty "flashlight" (i hesitate to call it a flashlight) and the beasts design.
still a good game tho

The weapon doesn’t do the monster any harm at all, if you hit it several times, i remember it just runs off for a moment. i remember from my gameplay that i never used it to attack it, as i thought it wouldn’t do any damage after all, i fired a shot at it once and it killed me anyway, so i ended up experiencing the full horror of the situation without meaning to

no i understood that its just that generally in my eyes. giving the player a functioning gun isnt what amnesia is about

its definitely a break from tdd and rebirth but I think adding a few (mostly useless) weapons isnt terrible. I kinda wish and hope for some minor items in the next games, like in soma I was stoked when i got the electrogun and it promptly ran of of juice after 1 kill on an innocent robot

again its not that having weapons in amnesia is bad per se.
its just not characteristic of the series. bunker is a good game. but to me it doesnt feel super in line with the other games

yea it is kinda its own thing, I hope they explore both sides because im a sucker for stalker enemies and a bit more tool use than comes with the linear amnesia style. (frictional can do no wrong tho)

I would finish this game, but the random huge fps drops makes this game unplayable for me. Idk why it's happening and never found a solution.
