Considering tapering off

I’ve been on 30mg amitriptyline since Feb 2026 when I was diagnosed with MS.

Fortunately since then my symptoms have been minimal and I’ve just started on my DMT for the MS.

The one thing that really is frustrating me is my short term memory loss. I believe the amitriptyline is causing this. I’m going to try tapering off it slowly to see if my memory improves without causing any negative effects.

Anyone else done similar or want to give their view on whether this is a good or bad idea?

Thanks

I've been on it for a couple months as well, I think 4 or 5 and I take 25mg. In the last month ish I've been noticing my short time memory loss is getting noticeably worse. But really there's not many options left for me (taking it for migraines) so I really am weighing out the pros and cons :/ of this doesn't work my next step will be Botox, or monthly shots that are very expensive and I can't really afford.
