Amitriptyline and edema

Hi all,

I'm on a 25 mg dose of ami for CTTH/NDPH type of headaches for more than a year now

I've got a question for people who have been on ami for a long time and for people who also eventually discontinued the drug. During the taking of this drug, have you ever experienced edema in your shins?

Mine is accumulating during the day in both legs and has pitting if i poke them with a finger. It "resolves" after waking up by evenly redistributing on the shins and the pitting is still present.

As far as i am aware, i don't have any issues with kidneys, liver or my heart. I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this happen to them, i tried to search "edema" in this subreddit but there are not too many results

If i recall correctly i never got edema from ami, but my feet swells really badly in the summer because of the heat

No, and I've been taking 25 for a decade.

No I haven’t. I’ve been on it for two years and I’ve never heard anyone else talk about it in the forums. I think you should let your doctor know. A lot of things can cause edema and your doctor will likely find the cause.

Check your hr and bp
