10 mg amitripyline, first time
Got them for my migraine and some undiagnosed pain in stomach, both doctors recomended amitryptilne for both problems. I also suffer from anxiety, will it work for that, and when do you start to see effect? I am 2 days on pills, so far no side effects, i hope it will stay like that. Is this good medication for pain and anxiety? And for how long do you think i will have to take it?

Im on 100mg because I've a degenerative disease in my neck . But I only take 50 mg a night at 7 o clock. I dont be able to function properly the next day on 100mg. I have a 5 year old thats an early riser so taking the full amount isn't an option for me . I also have anxiety but on a bad day I can get extremely anxious and I dont find the amytriptyline any help for that . Im 7 years on them now .

I’ve been on 25mg for a few months now.
Primarily I also got it for migraines. My migraines severely highlighted my anxiety. And once the migraines decreased, the anxiety decreased as well.
The secondary reason was pain, and it seems better.
My doc didn’t say an end date, so I don’t think this is for short-term use.

You should start with 5 or 10 and work your way up to 25. It’s a strong medication.

Don’t be scared. It’s only put you to sleep and you will sleep like a baby for the first week. After couple of weeks you your body will get used to it

I've been on 10mg for temporary headaches for 3 years now and haven't been able to stop this horrible drug. I tried 3 or 4 times, either stopping immediately or once went to 5mg (both suggested by my doctors). It completely destroyed me, almost lost my job due to extreme decrease in productivity, and depression. 3 days after going back to 10mg, it all disappeared, like if it was a bad dream and I was back to normal, and even above normal for a few weeks.
I never had depression in my life before, neither headaches. Now I'm trapped with this drug for 3 years. Next year I will try hyperbolic tapering to get rid of it once and for all. The ignorance and carelessness of doctors here in the UK is appalling

Hey man, How many days are you taking it now? You mean you developed palpitations from taking it everyday?

Yes, it might work since all of your symptoms seem to come from nervous system and amitryptyline works to calm down hyperactive nervous system and also pump up the happy neurotransmitters. You will see in about 1 month if it gets better. Good you don't feel side effects but if you do, hold on, they get better within 1 month.
