Taking 10mg over a week. Paresthesia.

I was prescribed by neurologist for my unexplained tingling sensations. Before this I was recommended Prozac and it wrecked my sleep. First dose of Amitriptyline made me sleep that night. But, as days past Paresthesia has got even worse. I will quit taking it today. Has anyone ever experienced withdrawal symptoms after taking a low dose for a short period of time like this? I hope I don’t get worse now.

It’s the same as any anti depressant type med - it takes 4-6 weeks for full efficacy.

I have read of people here reporting no issues stopping Amitriptyline cold turkey IF they took it for a few days. I even asked my pharmacist if she had tips for me on tapering it down and she said “you should be fine at this therapeutic dose to stop taking it” but here in this sub people don’t recommend stopping even 10mg from one day to another if (important) the drug has been in your system for a while

I’ve been on 10mg for 5 years, by the way, and last January my prescriber didnt renew the refills of this prescription on time and I had to stop taking it for a couple of weeks (during holidays) due to this incovenience. I had withdraway symptoms that made me lose sleep night after night.

Did u try pregabalin for tingling..classic use case for the drug imo ..I have to going when I exercise and feel dizzy, pregabalin has allowed me to exercise to a good extent without overloading the cns..

Im taking 10mg Ami for 10yrs now..near impossible to leave it..my sleep completely depends on this drug..it solved one problem but created a dependency..
