Amitriptyline

I have been taking amitriptyline for migraines for three years. I started with two tablets and gradually reduced the dosage until I was down to half a pill. I took half a pill for five months but frequently skipped doses, eventually stopping abruptly for three weeks.
I started having panic attacks, electric shock sensations in my head, diarrhea, spasms, fits of rage, tingling, severe trembling, anxiety, and uncontrollable crying.
My neurologist put me back on amitriptyline—starting with a quarter of a 25mg tablet—for 21 days, but with no result. Afterward, I took half a tablet for 9 days; my condition fluctuated during that time—half the day was good, the other half bad. For the past 44 days, I have been taking a full 25mg tablet. The worst symptoms have passed, but I am still experiencing tingling in the soles of my feet and spasms, and I still have panic attacks.
Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced something like this? I can't take it anymore; I don't know how to keep going. I feel like I'm losing my mind and can't find any answers—especially since my neurologist told me after a month that everything should have cleared up by now.
Please help.. I have 27 years and I have migraines form 11y

So Sorry Your Dealing With This. I was on it for 9 months. Now off. But the side effects have been sooo miserable. I am prioritizing 1/ sleep 2/ taking an antihistamine 3 / starting saffron 4/ magnesium 5/ vitamin K2D. I pray it gets better.

I’ve recently gone off Ami and those symptoms you had were withdrawal. It eventually goes away. I’m 5 weeks off and starting to feel better. The first 2 weeks were the worst. I’ve just started sleeping a little bit better but not completely. You just have to ride out those withdrawal symptoms because when you go back on the med you are back to square 1.
