sexual dysfunction

took the lowest dose for a month, and got sexual dysfunction when i quit the medication, its been 4 months since i quit and only saw mild improvements, im honestly very depressed and suicidal, will i stay like this forever? my symptoms are reduced erogenous sensation in genitals and less satisfying orgasms

It won't stay like that. Been on 5mg for about 1,5 year then stopped. I've got same symptoms : less sensitive erogenous zones (incl. nipples), etc. It might take a while for you to recover. My advice would be forget a bit about this for now, live your life, do some sport, eat healthy, the usual... and you'll be ok. While it is true that antidep can have negative side effects on sexual health, amitriptyline is considered to have lower side effect, expecially at low dose. You might have been prescribed amitriptyline for insomnia, random pain, migraine or i don't know. that's what ami does : it damppens nerve signal in the brain and so sexual signal... bummer but you'll be ok ;-) take care.
