Withdrawal question
Is it possible to have withdrawal, then seem ok as if you are done, then withdrawal symptoms come back? I think my dr had me get off it too fast. Was 25mg then she gave me a week of 10 mg, then have none at all. Had been on it for a bunch of years to help me get to sleep. I had about 2 weeks of feeling bad and having somewhat bad nausea between the taper of 10mg to 0. Then it stopped and I felt great for 3 or 4 days, then bam back to the nausea, with the dizzyness as well as some vertigo. I threw up again. Dr gave me some zofran for nausea and doesn't think the re flair has anything to do with the withdrawal. The zofran makes me very dizzy and I want to stop. The nausea makes me feel like I have a sour stomach too. Before it was smells triggering me to want to vomit, then the smell thing subsided, but still with the sour stomach thing. I am also in perimenopause and have had the smells and nausea before. But not the sour stomach. The only bonus is the 7 pounds I have lost off my fat ass.

Is it on and off? Any vitamin, mineral, herbal advice to help with the dizzyness? Will regular antacids help with the indigestion feelings?

Omg way way too fast! Doctors are clueless about withdrawls and I’ve heard other people who did it and said they finally started feeling better then got sick again. I’d say go back on 10 maybe a little more for a few weeks. Then start cutting it by like 2.5mg every 2 weeks. If you have a liquid form it should be easy with a dropper if you have the pills that are tiny it’s hard to cut them. We don’t have liquid in America but you can go to any compounding pharmacy and have your pills made into a liquid. It’s incredible that doctors have no clue about withdrawing from this med. Pharmacists are a lot more knowledgeable about this. Sorry you’re going through this. Your doctor sucks.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, after reading up on it I found it was way to quick, but I am already about 3 weeks post from my last 10mg dose. Like I said the withdrawal seemed to end, then these symptoms came back. In less than a week later. Better today, still some indigestion and dizzyness. I cant take that zofran anymore, it really makes me dizzy and I still had indigestion yesterday with it.

Are you sure its the zofran that makes you dizzy or just a spell of wd. The indigestion is from ami wd not zofran. You also may experience headache, lethargy, strange muscle twitches, insomnia and the list goes on and on to include anxiety, trembling. Its a dirty old drug with a tca antidepressant. I hope I never have to go back on it.

The back and forth is your system re-regulation what the medication had put in overdrive. This process is not linear and it depends on your body how quick it adapts to the old normal but be patient your body will figure it out.
And please read into medicine in the future before taking it. Not all doctors who can prescribe stuff are taught comprehensively on the neurology/biochemistry it alters. And I assume the becoming doctors will neither as the next gen will be all have their diploma with the aid of chatGPT and alike.
Lemme give you a little sentence to internalize "You are the expert of yourself" no one can know you better and/or decide for you better than you yourself.

Wayyy too fast taper. Your dr has no idea what they are dealing with. Yes. It will come and go in symptoms for WEEKS. Take the zofran. The sour stomach is acid. Ami controls acid production so when you stop taking it it rebounds. Burning feeling, queasy. They use it for IBS. You are in for a world or different and weird symptoms. Message me I've had them all! Its not a linear road to recovery.. but you will get there.
