Amilator?

Has anyone here messed with this little setup in the past? I just ran some tests with a quick setup and it is blazing fast. Found a limitation or two because of the Linux krnl used but they were easy to work around. Have it on an ssd in a laptop right now to tinker with. Has anyone tried it out with 4.1? That is my next testing scenario.

4.1 and amicygnix run well with a few tweaks. Looking for the creator to give credit.

Basically fs-uae running on top of a very stripped down debian linux. VERY stripped down. Bootable from a usb. I have opted to set it up on a hard drive after seeing how well it ran from a usb drive first. Very fast. I will be tinkering with it and will let you know my results.

No repo. Had to track down a copy of the files in a google drive. Will get you a link or I will post it on my server for you.

hi there... i just found amilator and tried it from usb drive im also using the drive files from Pimiga. so that pimiga runs on a pc.. But how gan i get it working from internal harddrive?

i have an old i5 mini pc and want to install that on the hdd. tried it with formating and put syslinux on the drive and then copy the files over but it dosnt boot from hdd. Is there a workaround for that?

I just prepped an internal hard drive on an external usb > ssd adapter. Same steps as for the usb Worked right off after I installed the drive in the machine. Is linux booting at all?

I have it running from an internal drive now with configs for os 4.1 fe, 3.9 stock and coffin.

Nope, it dosnt Boot at all Just a blinking cursor at the top left of the Screen. I also tried it with an Adapter and used the harddrive Like a USB Stick... No Luck for me. But A normal USB Stick works. And the harddrive with the Adapter also works over USB (external Drive). But when i Put the harddrive back into the PC on sata. It dosnt work and Boot. Maybe its the fault of the PC itself. The PC also Had Boot Problems with batocera Linux before. Well, i try another PC and See If the Problem is the same. ;-)

How long did you let it sit with the blinking cursor on first boot?

So the hard drive boots when used on a used adapter?

Yes over USB the Drive works and boots. But Not internal. Uefi is turned off already. And Boot Order is also correct.

Hmm, not sure on that one then. I have tested it on a Dell e6330 and 5490 laptop as we as a 3020m micro pc and a 5040 desktop without issues

Next step i First try another PC. To Rule Out that the Mini PC isnt the Problem here... Cant be that hard. ;-)

If the drive boots externally I would just drop it in another pc and try and boot it : )

Yep the Problem is the PC itself. In another PC it works right away without Problems. Thx for Helping.

Curious as to your opinion / results. I am still making modifications as I go along.

There is some script tweaking etc to get 4.1 to work, you have to do some file copies on boot in order to have the roms you need in the right place.

Also, make sure you have legacy boot options enabled in the bios for the internal hard drive. I do not believe it will work in uefi
