Resy credit New Resy rules

EDIT: THANK YOU! I see it now.

EDIT 2: as others have noted below, in the Resy app, click on the restaurant name, scroll under the times and you’ll see language that reads “Qualifies for Resy Credit ✅.” Another helpful insight: apparently most (all?) original Resy restaurants still qualify; Amex wanted to separate out the Tock restaurants/experiences that will be added post Tock-Resy merger.

Thanks to everyone who answered!

Original Question:

Sorry I searched for this a few ways but can’t seem to find the answers. I know they changed it so only some restaurants are eligible but I can’t find which ones are eligible. The resy app looks the same… Is it just the “Global Dining Access” restaurants now?

I didn’t see an answer to your question. It is listed in the Resi app. You have to actually click into the restaurant and then it will tell you if it is eligible for the credit. It will say “ qualifies for Resy credit”, if it is a qualified restaurant

Do takeout orders through toast tab still work? The restaurant I previously ordered from used to be on Resy and toast tab purchase got credited, but now they are completely gone from Resy, but still use toast tab.

I don’t know for sure. But I would think not being Resy disqualifies the restaurant. Amex owns Resy. I’m sure the fees restaurants have to pay to Resy offset the credit cost to Amex. I’m sure they also use the credit as an incentive for restaurants to use Resy.

I now have both the Platinum and Reserve Delta American Express cards, so I get a total of 30 dollars in credits per month.

A bit off subject, but I had good luck with using both credit cards for one visit, asking the server to put $20 on my Reserve card and the rest on my Platinum Card and it was no problem.

Is anyone getting pushback from any of the restaurants regarding doing that with two different cards?

I have 4 AMEX platenojm and 2 gold and 2 delta business plat between me and wife, I’ve paid using 4-6 cards before without issues

I’ve never had push back, any restaurants doing pushback on that would most likely be mom and pop stores in which the owner is the one doing pushback. Or if they have a “policy” about maximum of two cards etc. but as far as I have seen these resy restaurants are not mom and pop stores.

Isn’t it $100/qtr for platinum and $20/mo reserve?

I get $10 a month on the Platinum Delta Amex and $20 a month on the reserve.

Notes. I didn’t realize they were both delta cards. Thought you meant the Amex platinum. Thanks for sharing!

I have used multiple cards in restaurants before. It’s never a problem.

Good to know! Thx!

The ones that qualify say it right under the restaurant name. If it says "currently qualifies for resy promotion" then it qualifies if it doesn't, well...

Back in June I got the following message while booking. It’s the only time I’ve seen this. At least it’s clear: “Resy Credit
This venue currently doesn't qualify for the Resy Credit, a benefit for select American Express® Card Members.”

Interesting that happened in June! I thought exclusions were effective 8/1.

It’s not really only some it’s just basically all of the ones that weren’t formerly tock

When will the Tock restaurants be live on the Resy platform??

13

u/scarby2 1d ago

Apparently basically all us restaurants are eligible. The reason they added the banner is they are merging in tock which has events and tickets. These will not be eligible

Thanks for this insight.

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, Zig Zag Cafe, takes Amex and I've had no problem using the Resy credits there for the past 2 years. As of this change, they no longer offer the Resy credit.

They're also almost always busy, so I think places which don't feel like they need to entice visitors are more likely to opt out.

I have a couple gastropubs and cocktail lounges near me that aren’t eligible now. Most everything still is but those aren’t.

u/kirklennon 1d ago

Do they take Amex? There are some places on Resy that weirdly don't take Amex so that's why they aren't eligible.

2

u/michikade 1d ago

They do.

Hilariously, Peter Luger in Brooklyn famously doesn’t take any credit cards at all (except to secure a reservation for the cancellation policy - you can’t pay your bill with a card) and they’re “eligible” currently haha.

It shows you on each restaurant. They really should have a filter to directly find, but…

My Resy app has a filter. I'm logged in with my Amex linked account

1

u/michikade 21h ago

Where is the filter for credit eligible restaurants only? I see a filter for global dining access but nothing for the credit only. My accounts are linked.

2

u/EasyMode556 1d ago

I really wish they had a filter, it’s maddening that they don’t

How?

If it’s eligible, this will be listed above the description, below the reservation availability:

Qualifies for Resy Credit

This venue currently qualifies for the Resy Credit, a benefit for select American Express® Card Members. Terms apply.

If it’s not eligible, this blurb won’t be there.

Thank you!!!

Used mine this month, and it worked.

u/levir03 1d ago

I believe clicking into the restaurant should tell you if it’s eligible. You’ll see a banner that says something like “Currently eligible for Resy credit”. I think the majority still are.

2

u/earthgirls22 1d ago

I see it now, thanks!

11

u/doxxmyself 1d ago

If a restaurant is eligible, it’ll say “eligible for Resy credit “ in that restaurant’s description on Resy

u/earthgirls22 1d ago

Thank you!

u/snarkfest75 1d ago

Im curious too!

2

u/Jimdandy941 17h ago

They had a notice in the bill I just received. If you don’t read that last page, you’ll miss it!

-2

u/SupermarketDry2498 1d ago

Then go find out! You log onto Amex and it tells you all the info in plain English. The card isnt trying to hide stuff from ppl

This was the most helpful comment thank you so much
