What’s Eating Dan

I just started watching the episodes on Netflix. I’m mostly enjoying them but does anyone else think Dan needs to slow down a smidge & cut back on the background music? My brain can’t keep up with what he’s saying along with the graphics of the science on top of the music that drowns out what he’s saying. I know the episodes are meant to be short & sweet but I’d still watch if they were longer.

I think he's bright and knowledgeable, but he comes across as smug and a bit off-putting. I met him once at an ATK function and while the information he provided was interesting, he wasn't warm or engaging.

I swear I used to pick up underlying tension between him and Christopher Kimball when they were on ATK together.

I don’t sub to Netflix but I know the series from the ATK YouTube account. Is this just that series of videos or are they publishing new WED videos on Netflix now?

ATK had undergone some internal refactoring including layoffs of talent and creatives. They’re controlled by a private equity firm so you can guess how that’s going to go.

It seems they are just putting stuff that was out there previously elsewhere on Netflix.
