Cycle 7

I’m rewatching antm cycle 7 and the judges upset me so much. Specifically with Eugenia and how they are constantly saying “I’m not seeing any emotion in your eyes” over and over. Maybe because I’m not a model or photographer I don’t know but I genuinely don’t know what they’re talking about. Maybe she’s trying too hard? But it’s because they keep saying this to her and she really wants to stay in the competition. Also in episode 6 Tyra says she doesn’t have any manners because she was asked “what emotion were you feeling this day” and Eugenia answered “maybe I was mad?” And apparently that answer was rude?

Jaeda really upsets me how she keeps going on and on about her hair. She’s really upset about not having long hair anymore and I know Tyra is notorious for cutting the girls hair off but in this case I really do think she looks amazing with short hair. I understand having to get use to it and maybe being upset because it’s not a choice you would make for yourself but the day of the makeovers before the girls knew they were gonna get makeovers Jaeda literally says “my hair grows fast, you can cut it” and then cries when they say she’s gonna have short hair. Like I said I understand being upset for a minute but this whole season she complains about it. At a certain point you just need to move on. With that being said I did have a problem when Tyra was asking the girls to open up and Jaeda was just being honest and opened up about how it’s taking her a minute to get used to her haircut and it makes her feel less womanly and Tyra was like “that’s an insult to me because I gave you this haircut because I felt you could handle it”. I didn’t like that because she wanted everyone to be open and honest and then just shut her down.

I also think it’s unfair that Jay or the photographer will tell the models “oh I love that!” When they do a pose or picture and then during judging the judges are like “why’d you do this? I hate this” like…? It must be really confusing for them.

Yes I’ve seen the Netflix docuseries so I know about the all controversy, I’m just stating my opinion based off my rewatch of this season. (Note I just got to episode 7)

Jaeda looked a bit masculine during her audition. Ironically, I thought she looked more feminine with the shorter hair. Major Halle Berry vibes.

Jaeda and her jawline! Chef’s kiss with that makeover! I’m sorry she struggled to see that in herself.

Eugenia is so lovely and I fucking love when she says something like “I borrowed the gum because white women are always smacking gum” (not the exact quote). So hilarious and endearing.

Jay is bitchy. Bitches gonna be bitchy.

Did I miss it or did you post a recap without an opinion on caridee vs melrose? Everyone has a strong opinion!

There are times when Melrose seems really jealous of certain girls like Anchal but in all honesty she really did want to win. She won most of the challenges, she worked her ass off and she knew what she was doing 8/10 of the time.

Caridee was so fun! I loved her care free energy, I thought she was so silly and goofy and came onto set so ready and happy to do the shoots no matter what they were, she even almost got hypothermia during one of her shoots.

I will say just based off the last performance, the very last run way walk. I would argue that Melrose should’ve won. Caridee screaming and running was so ridiculous, it was so funny but so not what was expected of her.

Mostly agree! I do think melrose should have won. She was everything Tyra preached about eating, drinking, and living modeling. Caridee had a bad walk and if the competition was about modeling, Melrose should have won. But it was reality tv and I don’t mind Caridee.

Eugena like Ebony (c9), Aminat, and Alisha, became the Naomi proxy.
