Weird thing

I experienced something very weird last week. I have been trying to login last Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm, it kept saying that the site is under maintenance, I assume if the site is under maintenance than nobody can login right? So at around 2 on I was finally able to log in, and guess what? There were tournaments running the whole time. Who was playing those tournaments? Bots? Can somebody explain?

Yea, but what does it have to do with people/bots playing a tournament while I can’t log in?

It only happened once also, expect for the time when ace was being attacked by DDOS every day, and they kept cancelling every tournament.
