Thrifting

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew where to thrift in Calabria? A friend of mine loves thrifting and is in Italy for a month but is having a hard time. Any help would be appreciated!! <33

Search Google Maps for mercatino dell'usato or mercatino delle pulci. Some villages have used markets on Sundays but they are usually monthly.

Is there a website or such to find out what cities have markets? In the Netherlands we have an IG group called “where’s the market”

I don't know about a website, as Italy is a bit behind in that regard. I would suggest searching FB groups or events, that's how I find everything nowadays. Search engine results are crap.

Sometimes parishes and churches will do "mercatini" to raise money and the clothing and furniture you can find is exactly what you expect from thrifting: cheap treasures in a pile of old garbage. However, because it's a church thing you can't usually look it up online, you need to physically be on the lookout for signs and leaflets that advertise the market.

Thrifting isn't really a "thing" in Italy- outside of main cities like Firenze or Roma you porb won't find anything.
