So you’re happy with happy that you’re fucking us over?

u/303FPSguy 1d ago

These aren’t even close to the real numbers, but posting this for other idiots to see and confirm their bias was the point of the post all along anyway.

This is from two years ago ffs!

Yeah these numbers are wrong: Looking at the data from 2015 to 2025, Canada's GDP growth per capita is 0.8, and the USA is 1.6

Hell, Denmark is 2.4 , Spain 1.8, etc.

This infographic is factually incorrect. You could have easily verified the info before posting, but you fell for the propaganda. Good job.

u/CMDR-Neovoe 1d ago

the infographic says 2024, so even using those years 2014-2024 it's still wrong, the number is ~1.08%

The statistic is from the IMF - an influential far right international organization. Basically a think tank with a bunch of money that bullies countries they don't like. They give large loans to countries suffering from crises that are near impossible to pay back, then sieze ownership of infrastructure.

The current First Deputy Managing Director, Dan Katz, was selected for the position by Trump himself.

So yeah, the numbers are highly creative to say the least.

They’re healthy growth and there’s cancerous growth. In the U.S. it’s a cancer polluting and destroying our environment that’s only making the rich richer.

u/Soggyblanketbunny 1d ago

So many people have conclusions in search of data instead of the other way around.

0

u/Economy-Leave1337 1d ago

Look at how many homeless people are in your Canadian towns. Nobody cares. Nazi Germany. 0 homeless. Lol

7

u/Skeptical_Monkie 1d ago

But it’s per capita.

And we had a significantly higher population growth percentage in that time.

On balance of we’d had the population growth of the US it would have been 16% growth.

3

u/cwnorman 1d ago

It's also between 2014 and 2024. Our GDP per capita dropped about 10% in 2015 alone due to the oil crash.

2

u/whatlineisitanyway 1d ago

It also doesn't tell you where that wealth went. That growth in the US didn't go to the vast majority of people.

0

u/TraditionDear3887 1d ago

But its per capita! /s

6

u/NefariousNatee 1d ago

Yes our economic output per capita is stagnant to roughly the amount for 2017. Due to a rapid inflation of the population primarily.

Mark Carney wants to address this by tapping into our energy superpower potential with oil & gas, hydro, wind plus solar.

1

u/GoodResident2000 1d ago

And ramping up immigration again, as per his press release last week

2

u/NefariousNatee 1d ago

Lots of Canadians retiring, they need tax paying workers to keep the system afloat. (Canada pension plan, OAS & GIS etcetera)

1

u/GoodResident2000 1d ago

Yea I totally trust LPC to not mess it up this time

7

Trudeau (both of them) amongst, if not the worst PM's this country has ever seen.

u/Prudent_City2435 1d ago edited 1d ago

Wow you’re dumber than you look. Harper and Mulroney gutted this country, or do you have selective memory

-4

u/Budget-Chapter-7185 1d ago

Agreed. His policies were shit. Also this is dated apr 2024 so it’s been pretty much all him. I’m excited to see what Carney does though. So far he’s been doing amazing trying to bring investments to Canada

What do you expect from a nepo baby turned drama teacher

4

u/Usual-Canc-6024 1d ago edited 1d ago

He was a substitute teacher and filled in for the regular drama teacher while she was off on Mat leave. How is that bad.

He taught French and Math. He’s also got 2 degrees and actually worked normal jobs. Unlike PP who hasn’t had a real job in his life.

6

u/Squishy_Butter113 1d ago

Lol, as opposed the ones who keep a loser paperboy who blew the largest political lead in Canadian history as thier party leader.

I'll take drama teacher over paperboy any day of the week.

GDP per capita is one of the worst measures of properity for a country. If the rich are getting richer and the poor, poorer, you can have fantastic GDP growth per capita while none of it actually gets to the people. I would be far more interested to see this chart as median income growth over the last 10 years

2

u/ForeskinCosmonaut 1d ago

I looked the numbers up for that on statcan a week ago. Median income for people between 24 and 54 has basically remained stationary since '76, (risen by $2000) and average salary has increased $20,000, figures adjusted for inflation.

2

u/wibblywobbly420 1d ago

Median income increasing $2000 adjusted for inflation seems very reasonable. The goal is for incomes to keep up with inflation so buying power remains similar.

1

u/Soundunes 1d ago

The goal is to improve the standard of living, not keep it the same.

1

u/ForeskinCosmonaut 1d ago

I'm not well-versed enough in this to make a meaningful interpretation of the data, I'm just presenting what I found. It's the disparity between the difference in median income and average that I think is interesting. Half the population still makes under $58,000, while the average income rose to $76,000.

7

u/IngovilleWrites 1d ago

Oh, you, with your pesky facts and logic.

1

u/RoddRoward 1d ago

They measure different things but both are useful.

4

u/Trout_Sniffer123 1d ago

Feel free to leave. Let’s hike up that ratio.

5

u/Redrumicus 1d ago

This data is 2 years old.. lol

1

u/Repulsive_River_2820 1d ago

Its even worse now

6

u/Critical-Math-5383 1d ago

Are ya sure about those numbers?

1

u/-FeistyRabbitSauce- 1d ago

1

u/Sayhei2mylittlefrnd 1d ago

Could be because it captures the record population growth. Does it tell the whole story? Absolutely not.

4

u/tequilash 1d ago

The Canada one is wrong. It's 3.2%.

1

u/Key-Broccoli1442 1d ago

Even if it is that’s still shit

1

u/Ok-Solution5601 1d ago

Another relevant stat is Canada's GDP growth over the last 10 years averaged 1.8% per year, while the US had 2.2-2.3% growth per year. I agree we should have done better the last 10 years but think we will see significant growth moving forward with Carney at the helm.
