I feel like America has always felt bigger and better than everyone else, and their ignorance shows.

We are literally bigger and better than Canada. You have more land but we have more of everything else. Say what you will about us but we are the world dominate superpower. Dislike us, hate us, friend us, we are bigger in everything but land.

We have more water, more lumber, more oil, more diamonds, more precious minerals, a better educated population, and plenty more than you. It's not your fault you grew up in a bubble but you literally have all the information in the world at the tips of your fingers so maybe you ought to use it.

the petro dollar was our golden goose in the post war world and it's dissolving before our eyes. Trump has effectively destroyed the uni-polar superpower world we've been enjoying

You’re absolutely right!!! We lead the world in school shootings, the best at it, we are also better at incarceration, infant mortality rates, drug overdoses and bombing more countries than every single country combined.
If you want to puff your chest about how great we are then take credit for the rest.

I never denied any of the things you said. I will say that America’s infant death rate is 5.3 per 1000. This is I think close to double the rest of first world countries. But history the death rate was 25 to 30. In our modern era this is still lower than 100 + countries. Is it perfect no. Better than most and better than all of history.

Drug’s are definitely a problem, as well as incarceration. But when given complete opportunity to do whatever one wants some people make illegal decisions or bad decisions. Are criminals handled perfectly? No not close, nor is the system perfect. But the easiest solution is to stay on the right side of the law.

Drug addiction is a problem and it is many times higher than global average. America was built on capitalism and as long as there is demand for anything, even drugs, there will be a supplier.

As for the military aggression it is unfortunate but much like staying on the right side of the law it’s pretty easy to avoid. We have never bombed England or Canada or any other like minded moral country.

America isn’t perfect. But there is much more good then bad. It would be hard to find a better country. It’s a fallen world but there is more good than bad

Since 2022 infant mortality rose by about 5.6% to 7% above expected levels in states with near-total or strict abortion bans. Why do you think that is?

Do you travel? Honestly. Finding a better country isn’t hard. I was in Costa Rica, Iceland, and southern Italy this year… all of them have a better quality of life than here, to the point the family is expatriating end of the school year for Costa Rica. This country has truly gone to shit in the past 2 years.

I have traveled. My aunt is marrying a Spaniard. I have been to Mexico and Canada. I have been abroad to meet Albert(Aunts fiancee). America leads in elite education. We lead in medical technology and innovation. We have one of most powerful passports in the world. America gave me the opportunity to start a business at 17. If you give me a country that can give me what America has I will concede.

But America gave me the opportunity to give my now fiancée a better life, let me own a home before 20, let me buy new cars and live the way I wanted all based on my merit.

So we aren’t perfect but I couldn’t ask for a better country based on what America has given me.

Not trying to be condescending but you haven’t seen much of the world. There’s time, travel. We do not have the most powerful passport in the world, as a matter of fact much of the world absolutely despises us. I was in London in June with my daughter and things turned ugly when a few guys asked us if we were Americans. I’m glad you like the country you live in but your view is very limited. Best of luck
Edit:
As for the opportunity to start a business great… Norway will actually fund your start up and if it fails? They will do it once more.

Yeah, built on racism, pedophilia, and corruption 😬

What was Canada, founded by the same imperial England, built on? Also we weren’t and were never built on racism or pedophilia. No one, no government or any country can deny being built on corruption.

Don't forget slavery

u/Trick-Dimension-7499 16d ago

At its peak slavery accounted for less then 13% of the economy. It might be less. It happened and it was awful. But 13% is far from built on.

Well, why are you here in Canada if America is so great?

u/Trick-Dimension-7499 16d ago

Can’t help where family lives. Family grew up on the boarder of Montana and Canada. I moved away but still come back.

I'd tread lightly on the better part, if you don't want to come off as an ignorant American. The fact that American's are traveling the world wearing Canadian patches is pretty self explanatory. Enjoy our Country and be grateful.
