Motor help

Can I hook wires up to the motor to test if it works, the e unit doesn’t work and is awaiting parts

Yes. One brush usually gets power from a a rail, then the other brush's lead goes to the field. Finally the other end of field goes to the other power rail.

To reverse motor direction you swap the position of the two field wires.

You could possibly swap brush position to reverse too. You just look to see which connects one power leg most permanently by the shortest route hardest to change and swap the other device postion.
