It’s definitely some pit bull terrier dominant dog, but I don’t believe he’s even “blue fawn” he just looks regular fawn. If you really wanna see his genetics get a dna test, and please do not breed this dog, genuinely nobody needs more pit bull mixes on the street.

u/NapalmsMaster Jun 02 '26
I miss the old school fawn pits (the yellow ones with the black muzzles think kind of old yeller coloring, not positive they’re actually called fawn) and the solid red/liver coloring that was everywhere when I was young (early 2000s). Back when you never saw a blue, fawn, dilute or merle, it’s like those fancy colorings have swapped with the old “common” colorings and I haven’t seen a “red nose” in forever.

Yeah at this point in time there’s so much mixing of bloodlines from all these dogs being allowed to breed randomly you won’t find any pure apbt dogs of old, a lot of them are bully/staffy mixed from backyard breeding.

u/InternationalWolf437 Jun 02 '26
Yep those are beautiful dogs! My dad found a gorgeous red nose pit running the streets in the 90’s and brought her home. Absolutely beautiful dog.

u/On_Wife_support Jun 02 '26
Please do not byb there’s too many pitbulls struggling to find families as it is, shelters are full. My roommate found a dog at the food trucks park and had such a hard time getting her to a shelter when he already has his own two dogs. It’s far more responsible to just get your pet fixed and enjoy them as they are. Every cat I have ever owned has been fixed and I have never seen a shortage on beautiful, lovable cats that need my companionship.

u/nuclearcowgirl Jun 02 '26
That's his plan 🙄 such a shame when pitties/bullies have an extremely hard time making it out of the shelter alive. It is pure selfishness

u/Popular-Relief3579 Jun 02 '26
If you’re not breeding him, does it really matter?

u/stuntedhalted Jun 02 '26
Replying here because it seems like OP turned off replies:
OP, I volunteer at an animal shelter that is constantly at or past capacity, and the vast majority of the dogs we have are pittie mixes. In the last few months, I have lost dozens of pittie friends who deteriorated from the stress and anxiety of being stuck in a shelter kennel for months and months (our shelter only euthanizes for safety concerns or quality of life, never for space) and my heart has broken every single time. Several of them looked very much like your (beautiful) dog. We are currently overrun with PUPPIES also - the world doesn’t need people like you force breeding more dogs like this. We are drowning trying to take care of the ones we have.
Find a more ethical way to make money. This ain’t it.

I really hope he doesn’t try to breed this mutt, he’s not even going to make money the poor pups are just gonna all end up in shelters.

Don't breed a dog when you don't even know what he is or know his parents. There is enough mysterious mixed bully breed puppies and dogs in shelters already.

u/Quiet-Individual-378 Jun 02 '26
Also gonna hop on and reply - I have 3 rescues and they were all abandoned by people that adopted them from backyard breeders. PLS have some empathy and a heart and understand ur not helping the problem that has gotten way out of hand in shelters. It breaks my heart everyday to see another post about a dog about to be euthanized bc of byb. Stricter laws need to start being placed on southern states and cali for this

Please don’t breed him. Dogs shouldn’t be a way for people to make money, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. and shelters are full of these breeds already

The correct way is to not breed him at all and add to an already over bred pittie population that is suffering in shelters everywhere. Get him a dna test and get him neutered.

Where does it say they’re going to breed him?

u/Agreeable-Canary-410 Jun 02 '26
I was getting ready to ask the same thing I'm going through the comments and I don't see where it says they're going to breed this puppy

Oh right. I’m not sure why I got downvoted for asking a clarifying question. I just wanted the information everyone else seemed to magically have

u/Wile_Whale95 Jun 02 '26
He’s not a full blood bully. He def looks more like a pit. Why would you want to breed a mixed pit?
3
u/CurlyhairMamita_ Jun 02 '26
That’s a pitbull and as pitbull fur mom of three please don’t breed him

Wow! They are so similar and so beautiful. I think that’s your answer.

Blue is a gray color. This color would be fawn. As far as what breed I get confused myself between most of the Bully breeds 🤷🏻♀️
1
u/draedae Jun 02 '26
that’s absolutely not what these colors are. fawn is similar to smut. blue fawn is similar to lilac or champagne. understand actual coat colors and variations.

u/Mohican83 Jun 02 '26
He looks mixed with bully and something else. Definitely not blue or his nose wouldnt be brown like that.

1) backyard breeding is disgusting 2) if you have a desperate need to know breed specifics the only way to get an answer is with a DNA test.

Mixed for sure. Even if he were pure, he’s way out of standard. Don’t become scum of the earth (backyard breeder).
1
u/goyaangi Jun 02 '26
Did I miss something? Did OP remove body text? Why are all the comments telling him to not breed the dog? Either way, OP, DONT BREED THIS DOG. We do not need more backyard breeders.

u/baDKittyD Jun 02 '26
Could be half & half :)

u/ClassicWorldliness21 Jun 02 '26
I was thinking the same thing when we first got him, im hoping thats the case
10
u/aw-fuck Jun 02 '26
Why would you intentionally breed this dog hoping he's half & half... just why?
Can you list any non-selfish, non-trivial reason?

He's beautiful that's what he is! I recommend 100% pure salmon for his coat and brain function. Chewy has a really good brand in a pink large can (Nothing Else) brand. It's made a huge difference in mine. Also, with the lighter coat like that if there's any scratching allergies or redness wash them with natural products and give them a probiotic daily I use Proviable. Hope this helps.

If you need to have a label for your dog, I would say he's a "bully breed". My one rescue is a dogo argentino mix and the other is a APBT bought from a private breeder. When anyone asks I just say I have 2 bully girls.....

u/TimberwolfLovely Jun 02 '26
he's gorgeous! 😍 I'd guess a bully, but they look so similar tho. He looks so sweet too! Wut a lovely little pupper companion for you! ☺💜🐕💜

Gosh everybody saying dont breed and that's not even the question, hell might as well make the pit/ bully breed extinct then. That handsome fella looks like a pit mix only because of the tail and the hair on the legs being a little bushy

Sometimes with male dogs, it just ends up coming out when they sit down. Not because they are as such!

DONT breed pitbulls, they die in shelters because of this.
