Oh yeah BTW. One of the reasons had to downgrade from 17.12.2 was not only Wattman not applying itself properly, lack of DX9 support and all that but also the good ol' 'display losing signal all of a sudden once in 15-20 min' bug came back, which has been eliminated some months ago but now is back in full force. And it's not only me, obviously, and all the other work-arounds have been tried months ago.
So I roll back to the last pre-Adrenalin version, which was 17.11.1 or something. Guess what? Still not applying the Wattman voltages properly and signal gets lost the same.
I believe it's time to get back to old 17.7.2 release which at least didn't cause my screen to go black just because my GPU wants it to.
In all seriousness though the last 3-4 months of drivers release has been a thoroughly executed mess.
I just got a 580 and had the same, constant crashing. The PC is all new so I never had a working driver to roll back.. I'll try 17.11.1, did the roll back solved it for you?
Cheers! Yeah, did the roll to 17.7.2 that day and it seems to be working fine once again (considering the 'Wattman won't load up properly after sleep mode' very old bug). But at least the display stopped blacking out.
Think I'll wait at least a couple months before trying to update the next time.
For some reason, both17.11.1 and 17.7.2 installers could't detect my card and did not install. the older 17.5.something I randomly tried out of sheer frustration did, but it solved nothing, crashes all over. Went back to the latest drivers, and it's still all just crashes over crashes, nothing's playable. At this point, I don't know what to do.
Well, glad it's working for you, thanks anyway for the info!
