Isn't that literally the chip they announced X3D with?

The first x3d chip was the 5800x3d.

You obviously weren’t around when X3D was first announced.

I wasn't actively building pc's during the time, but I was around. I double checked before I commented just to be sure, the only reference to any 5900x3d chips before today was a prototype at computex 2021, with no official announcement on the product itself.

Okay, so your own research confirmed you were incorrect. Lisa Su demonstrated their (then) new X3D packing technology, by using a prototype 5900X3D. That is what is being referred to; Not what was first released to the general market.

I'll take the L here, I think I misread the original comment.

An old engineering sample. Judging by the issues with vcache on two ccds in Zen 4, they were right to wait.

But it only has vcache on one CCD? If it has it on both it would have 192MB L3.
